I am part-owner in a travel company specializing in red-eye bus trips. Trying to find decent truck stops/rest areas to stop at during our trips is the most aggrevating part of my job and no one has better insider info on that topic than truck drivers, right? Thought I'd sign up and see if you all can give me some info that would lessen the headaches when it comes to this part of the job. ;)

You need to specify an area...this is a BIG continent! I can recommend a couple places but they are over here on the west coast and you are probably on the east coast.

OK, busses have an advantage over 18 wheelers. They can actually get into most parking lots. So you don't have to be concerned with truck stops/rest areas. Passengers want munchies anyway when they stop. Normally it's just vending machines at rest areas. So, look for McD's/Buffet places etc.

    Thanks guys.

Rabbit, I started a thread in the "Truck Stops Here" subforum to see if anyone had answers for the upcoming trip (Truck Stops off 78.

Allow Me, I'm looking specifically at truck stops so that people can get cleaned up and eat at the same place instead of having to make two stops. Restaurant bathrooms are really too small for 50 some people to get ready in with only 1 - 1.5 hours to do so in.

Hey fellas. No need to say where I'm from, because I don't have a home. The road is my home and the liner is my wife. Just wanted to drop in to introduce myself. My name is Larry Jacobs.

Welcome, Larry. Lots of good people here and a lot of 'em live in their truck just like you do. I think you'll like it here.

What's happening Larry? Glad you're here and we have a plether of people on this forum that are ready to answer just about anything that you can through at us. In answer to your thread question though when you come through a truck fuel island, go inside and it's a book the truck stop guide and it lists all the truck stops in the nation. Not sure of the exact name however this will give you a quick reference. Also if you have a laptop just put in the name of the highway and state and I'm sure something will come up. Good luck going forward and drive safe!!
