I am thinking about going to Swift. I would like to know what the company drivers are making with van and solo. NOT L/O OR O/O.

Id like to go over seas and drive, I wanna hit big with this trucking #### instead of driving all over the #### country for 20 years to get what i could get in 2 years. But my plan B is schneider tanker out of PA, just gotta get my CDL in 2 weeks and pass this exam!! Im in the stage right now of getting my downshifting somewhat decent on road trips, Last final day is 6/05/11. Would be great to work for Walmart or Costco's eventually..

Best weekly check was working for an O/O, I took home about $1100.00 a few times, average take home was $750-$800.00

Now average take home is about $600.00, but I'm home every night, and weekend.

Depends on your definition of good money.

I am so sick of low miles, it's driving me crazy. I am a hard worker by nature but so far in trucking, I have been unable to work hard at all. I see more of my bunk than I do the highway.

Lowest check I ever got as a co. driver was -$45.00 ( negative ) and you'll love why.......

Co. got new business in a whole new field that required driver to remain on station round the clock ( til empty )...... so I did....... and turned in over 100 payroll hours plus 3 loads which equaled a gross of about $2100 for the week. Payroll gal saw this and said "no way"... has to be a mistake, driver can't earn that kind of money so she defaulted and paid nothing until approved. I get the negative check ( owed them for health bennies ).

I raise hell with FM and he offers to "loan" me the money til next week. ( Comdata )

While I eventually got most of my money I could never get them to understand the ignorance shown and the damage done.

Truck mgmt. saw nothing wrong with 4 people handling my check and no one asking why it was a negative....... they couldn't grasp that the check broken up was worth far less than if it had arrived all at once......

And they couldn't understand why I resigned...... and these folks are supposed to have degrees.
