for the secuacus nj one if you dont have a preplan, there are usually 10-20 pallets in every trlr in MT yard..

what you can do is pick an MT,take as many pallets as you can fit and take it to bordentown at the trk stop there,i think they still buy pallets there,3$ per?

might be worth it,might not...ive never done it,but other drivers have told me that they have.

Keep in mind, when your dealing with UPS, every thing they do is literally a Timed Event. they dont have or wont allocate time for removing dunnage/ garbage from a trailer that isnt theirs.

Petro in Bordentown... Exit 7 off the turnpike, or exit 58 (I think) off 295. Big pallet buying/selling area off to the side.

All the trailers had pallets on the back. Seems to be a common thing lately

OK, would you rather have to deal with a few pallets or some nasty dried smelly meat bits all over the floor?

    Exactly,...............

I would also add that anyone can feel free to not pull those trailers as my brothers and sisters are the ones who should be doing that work,.........

Geez... no need for a pro-union/anti-union argument here... if there were enough people to do the job, they wouldn't be calling in outside carriers. Don't blame a driver for doing what he's dispatched to do.

    Neither!

But if i had to pick, pallets. This is why i don't haul reefer. At least if i had a reefer the company would have scheduled trailer washouts. Nobody tells me what to do w/ the #### pallets! I just consolodated them over to the next trailer, i feel bad for the next guy who shows up who sees 50+ pallets in the only empty available. This shouldn't be allowed to happen.

$30 an hour for manual labor and they can't even take a couple min to offload a few pallets. They probably had another one of those union breaks coming up and didn't feel like finishing their job.

I'm anti union incase you couldn't guess.

lol. ups cant afford to pay union rates and stay in business,so they contract alot of their freight out to save money so they can pay your ridiculous salary of 84k/yr+ benefits including tuition reimbursement etc etc.

there is no doubt that LTL/local is the way to go,but acting like alot of these people do as if theyre "the ####" is sorta funny...the fact of the matter is youre prly just a tool being paid a ridiculous amount to do a task that most anyone could do given the chance and a SMALL amount of training.

i find his statement very accurate, they consider any delay a service failure, but often they are late at getting the load ready,or they clock it as done and the bills arent even printed and then 15 min later youre out the door, you hook up and then they say wait...1 more pallet...and then its a service failure when you arrive late even though you didnt stop... its anyones fault but theirs, thats how they make it.

it used to be he'd ask about what happend as if it was some grave accident, arriving beyond the appt, but after about 5 times explaining what happend whether construction etc etc etc,i got pissed and i told him i didnt stop at the strip club and the company can install a camera if they want to...in other words " f off"

i was stressed about it at first, but my dm doesnt even ask me about it anymore because he knows i wasnt messing around and if i think i need to do something whether its getting a coffee, or taking a piss,or even taking a short nap i get it done because their junk isnt worth more than safety.

drivers that dont stop for reasons like that are a good portion of the ones falling asleep, driving into the ditch, rolling over, stressing their bodies and eventually having a heart attack.
