Red, I think that is an excellent letter, professional in nature, to the point with just the right reversal of roles in the last sentence.

Right on man! Be sure it gets to the brass and not somebody in lower management. I'm sure you dont want to post the brokers name, but how about the area code. We can narrow it down from there.

BigJohn: Thanks. Those weren't the words I was using in private while settling the issues on that load. Thing is these sorts of surveys can just be a checklist on some exec's to-do list for bonus consideration, or a real attempt to figure out why carriers have quit calling them. I figure phrases like cheap freight and pay your bills on time would definitely get my response deleted. But I didn't say that exactly LOL.

WM: Redd with two D's is that other guy in GA that actually knows what he's doing LOL. The area code would be a dead giveaway so I'll make it less specific. We have a reefer and their loads tend to be more plentiful in the DC-BWI-PHL corridor, but I've seen them post stuff all over where I'd be looking, generally east of I-35 and south of NY. If they offered a decent rate once in a while, I'd give them another go. Unfortunately they've made it too easy to call someone else first.

Interesting trivia: In the process of collecting on that load, I leaned on my factoring company for help. They indicated that they have dozens of carriers invoicing the same broker on a regular basis and found it surprising I was having this much trouble with them. Their overall impression was that this broker was routinely low maintenance and fast pay from a collections perspective. That's probably the only reason I will even reply to that automated email solicitation. Since I obviously am not dependent on their business, I've got nothing to lose by giving them what they asked for.

I use landstar, TQL, Choptank and various other ones. But the rates are usually the same, however i have been thinking of changing my route on the backhall but, I also risk losing a few days. I feel in the reefer business you gotta hustle.

Red, that's close enough. If it were me dealing with said broker and their consistent lowball rates, I'd post their name. But I respect your class in keeping them nameless. BTW, I've followed a lot of your posts detailing your new venture, and am impressed with way you've described your business tactics and style. Brokers, at least the smaller ops ones, appreciate and like repeating business with guys who have earned their respect.......well, unless they've got a go to trucker who always hauls for $500 under the prime, LOL!!!

You really should start your own thread to detail your day to day operations, like pharm Phil did a few years ago. It would go over well and alotta the newbs could learn a thing or twenty.

I won't post names unless someone is really doing things wrong. Another thing is that some of the bigger companies have agencies that have better customers and better rates. When you call their main office you get the cheap stuff. I've run across a few like this including the one I sent the feedback to.

I didn't start a thread, but did sort of hijack this one after the OP made one post and disappeared.
