3 of my friends went to swift school in san antonio texas but never drove for them but got their cdl but left because they didnt want to know what its like to be a poor otr driver living in a truck. So once they got their cdl they just quit and go back home. Now they have all recieved some threat about a lawsuit! Can they take away their house or vehicle for not paying?:biggrin_2559:

It's no different then defaulting on a loan. They are obligated to pay them the full amount of what it would have cost to go through a school. Yes they will make you pay and yes they will take you to court. Oh yeah, and YES they have very, very, very good lawyers!!!

Actually, your friends should be in jail for theft.

Actually in TX they would merely get away from any harassing phone calls from collection agents...the debt that they signed for is still there...and yes it can be reported as a bad debt and effect them as far as credit and credit history.

Rationalize it however you want to. But, when your friends took training from Swift and didn't fulfill their obligation, they became thieves.

You're just a young guy, but keep in mind that others will judge you by the people you associate with. Finding other people to call "friends" would be in your best interest.

Can they take away their house or vehicle for not paying?:biggrin_2559: Gee that is so FUNNY , someone signing to be RESPONSIBLE for a company spending $ on you then not repaying it.

Court can order siezure of property to recover the $ along with court costs , interest.
