I believe a couple of you Acme guys are on here, can you tell me how you're doing? I've been through the 2 day safety class already and just waiting for my plates and i'm curious about what I can expect. I've worked for Venture which is the same line of work so i'm just comparing the two. I basically want to know what kind of money could be made here and just what to expect. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

Haha, it took me a while to get used to being on call but I dont mind it now. With Venture we rarely got loads coming back but the Acme terminal i'm leasing to claims they have back hauls about 80% of the time. I'm also trying to decide if I should lease on a flatbed or a single drop.

I think it depends a lot on which terminal or what type of equipment you have. Were you using a single drop? When did you work there?

Yes with load levelers i have been gone for almost 3 years best move i ever did we had 14 trucks to get loads with and i always was at the bottom untill the weekend would always have a load because the old timers just wouldnt answer the phone

And get ready they get $50% of your money its not just 30% like they tell you after insurance ect they get it down to 50%

I was told by a couple of the drivers that I can expect around 45-50% of the gross after fuel and lease charges. I think they charge 10% for insurance where as at venture they were charging me 15.5% insurance. I would get around 35% of the total gross over there. You only get 70% of the linehaul and they always tell you the total price to make it sound good.
I made between 8-10k a month bring home with venture but they started pushing a lot of out of town stuff on me and I really like to stay within a day or two from home.

If your ok with macking $2,000 to 2,500 a week than thats all you i was going under fast they cut you 2 checks one to the driver and one to the truck so after they take taxes out you made less\

they took out 17.5% off the line haul on EVERY LOAD than took out 30% of what was left i did 25% to the driver most 80% do than after that was taking out for the driver and taxes are 8% so you only get a check for 17% of that 25%

If i made $3,000 gross i would take home $1,655.38 to the truck and driver
