Hi all. First post!
I have a race car rig (Freightliner and a 53' trailer). Toward the end of June I will be travelling from Orange, CA (near Anaheim Stadium) to Spokane, Washington. Mapquest suggests taking I-15 all the way north. Other options include 395 and I-5. I don't like driving through the Siskues on the 5 with 7% grades, and 395 means dealing with the Mammouth area. I'm looking for the least amount of grades and passes. What would you suggest? How is the road from the I-15 to Spokane?
Thanks in advance.
Randy
I-15, 395 or I-5?

I third the motion. That'll get you the best (read: least) grades, too.

I did that once and got stuck behind a windmill blade, -
Just an FYI.. Caltrans is doing construction on I-5 from Sacramento to Woodland repairing the #1 lane that most truck drivers are in. They expect completion by Summer... (ha ha ha). They do work mostly at night but some during the day and most involve one lane for all traffic with nasty smells passing by.
Source: Me.. I drive the i-5 from Williams to Willows every day, I shop in Woodland and run I-5 south from Williams to Woodland ALOT!. Occasionally I will goto Sacramento but beware of the 3-4 semi trucks sitting along side of the road just outside the Woodland first exit sign with VERY large solar windmill plates. They are a looker if you have never seen them. CHP likes to verify permits for these overloaded trailers and they often are parked on side of road to wait it out.
