Or....Get about a 30' roll of flex and attache it to the tail pipe and run it out under the trailer in the back....Of course all the "Weed-burners" would have to park in the back row to make this work....Otherwise....the driver behind them would get gassed.....
"Weed-Burners" Should Be Illegal.......

Not always time efficient to back a transfer into the hot plant (considering elevation, turns, etc.) when the contractor wants trucks back asap.

Yep....You T and T drivers usually get first dibbs after the hot plant's drivers load anyway....
When I ran dumps....I was third party.....Talk about detention time...I'd show up at some plants at 0600 and get on the "list".....then get called to load by noon....of course I was getting paid by the hour...so it didn't screw me....just my contractors.... -
i worked for an LTL company, all of their trucks were wed burners, with the exception to the twin screws..i do believe they had sleepers with weed burners...
yes..cost effectiveness....less money for less piping...
YES....
probably so..unless you do not look hard enough and there is a stack hidden behind a wind fairing..
yes, for "some" city operations like my former employer in NYC and NJ, they NEEDED weed burners to get under fire escapes in the alley's..even up here in New England as many of you know, we have low clearances at many docks. not to mention also, tight, narrow streets, where a stack can (and will be) crushed when making nearly 90 degree or better angle docking -
Until I saw your later post, I figured he probably COULDN'T wake up!
Yes it does. It is dangerous as all get out.
I've never driven a road tractor that was a weed burner. But the first city tractor that I had with DATS had that ###### underneath exhaust. And it would and did seep into the cab.
Now obviously, I didn't spend time sleeping in the truck with it idling. I didn't have to to get gassed. All I had to do was sit in traffic somewhere.
I always drove with the driver's window down at least 1/4 of the way, no matter how hot, cold or wet it was. . . -
An under slung exhaust is a lot quieter, cheaper, and weigh a lot less.
Why would people put straight pipes right by there ears? -
