I had to buy my shocks at the Western Star dealer. They only charged me for 1.5hrs for all 4 installed. I was going to put them on at home, but I had 1 that busted and with the 72hr deal going on this week, I just bit the bullet and had it done.

If you use the same ones that they use on their trucks, then SNI sells em for like $35 each I think.

I had the shocks replaced on the 9400 I drive at 325,000 miles and it took our shop 4 hours.

The bolts were rusted to the shocks and they had to heat all 12 bolts to
get them loose. Had to replace all the bolts as a result.

My truck had NEVER been out of the TX/OK area......yours has been in
all kinds of weather and road chemicals.

Maybe letting a shop quote you a rate up front and then hold their feet
to the fire if it takes longer wouldn't be a bad thing.

DO you guys that work on the SNC program have your own authority or use theirs, and is it an option.

That's what I did. At 425,000 miles, I went to the Petro and had Gabriels put on. $159.00 per axle.

We run under their authority. We pay plates and bobtail insurance, they pay cargo and so on.... you can get your own authority, but not sure how they work with those guys. I think you are considered an outside carrier and have to go thru Schneider Logistics.

If you stayed out a few weeks, then you'd be ok. Loads going into Denver pay quite well, but coming out of the house, you are looking at $1.10-$1.25 a mile. Good news is they do stuff from Golden to MN/IL (empty cans) so it's basically pulling an empty trailer.

In your area, you might be better off going with the Bulk division if you came to SNI, as they run to Denver often and you get paid on ALL miles.

That is only for IN STOCK shocks. They don't carry my shocks at all, hell Western Star only had 4 of them and the parts guy siad they were in their system for the last 3yrs, and it wound up costing me $400 roughly to have all 4 replaced. They also put on brand new bolts for me, and lubed the chassis at no charge cuz the mechanic noticed my 5th wheel was a little dry so he just did it all LOL

Also, the Gabriel's are hydraulic shocks..... I put gas shocks on mine as it seems to ride much better (less roll) and they don't rust out as quickly. Tho, if they had mine at the Petro/TA I would have gotten them for sure.
