Hahaha! I hear you on that one.
I need to bring home around 2k a week after taxes and all deductions. They told me if I gross 4k then I'll bring home around 2k so thats pretty close to what you're saying. -
no company has 100% happy drivers.... obviously.
in my research tho the LA based guys do the best there. I know one guy who's been there like 12 yrs or something and then there is coonass, they have a few trucks leased over there -
Yeah thats the same as Venture was. The La guys made all the money. They get forward rate going and coming back where as us Tx drivers get 25% knocked off the top since we were heading back towards our home terminal.
-
My last year there gross was $82,000 that just dont do it for me
-
Well you just need to get of the couch, you can't make it sitting on the couch drinking kool-aid, eating Ho-Ho's and watching Dr. Phil. $82k a year I make that kind of money running backwards.
-
I'm just about at that point now with only 6 months into the year at Venture. I dont think it would be too hard to make 160-200k gross. Thats doing 3-5 loads a week working 5 days.
Only reason i'm changing over is cause Venture (United Vision) has a terrible pay system. It takes too long to get all of your money. Sometimes it takes a month to get paid on certain loads. I heard Acme is good about paying unless there is a major problem or something. -
If i could work 5 days a week and make $200,k a year i would go back but that was not the case when i was there acme guys tell me all the time they are making $6-9,000 a week and all i say is bull s#$% i run off the load boards now i ran from houston to Pa last week with a load coming back to Port Authur,tx 2,700 miles i ran and made $6,500 in 4 days thats a good week for me

Terminal 0090 - JUSTIN DRIVE AWAY
I would hate to work for them as an o/o from how the company drivers are being treated.
The terminal manger Lloyd Burgess is hiring people that worked for LTI. And, those are the people that are getting all the miles!!!!! Everyone else is not working or getting minimal work. Paychecks for the ones who are not getting miles are 100.00 and up a week. Who can live on that? That does not even pay the utilities. I am sure if he were to give his most trustworthy 500 or less miles a week for a month, bet they wouldnt be so trustworthy!!!!!
This has caused so much animosity between all the drivers. He continues to let good drivers sit at home while his favorite, trustworthy, reliable work every day!!!!
A few of his most trustworthy harass other drivers when they all have to be in a van to get where they are going. One in particular has even grabbed other drivers. They are sarcastic, discriminate, and try to start arguments. His trustworthy guys are not what he thinks they are or just could care less what they do. When anyone goes to Mr. Burgess he says its not his problem and the men need to work it out among themselves. It is my understanding when there is harassment or discrimination it is the responsibility of the company to maintain peace and harmony between employees and the company. The company is ultimately responsible for everyones actions!!!!
Acme needs to contact the district manager and have him call each driver to find out what is going on before something really bad happens. Mr Burgess is doing the same thing that he did when he worked for LTI and fired for, only working his friends!!!
Drivers are transported in a van 5/6 hours without pay, then expected to drive a truck for 10 hours. In some cases drivers will deliver a truck, get back in the van with the van driver who took them from the start to pick up a truck, than follow them to delivery. The drivers get back in the van and head back home for another 5 or 6 hours without pay. The van driver drives all the miles!!!!!
Everyone has been told by Mr Burgess that no one has to log van time. Now do you feel safe with these drivers on the road beside you??? -
Hi everybody. I'm new to this so just take it easy with me... please. I've been reading about this ACME company and have a few questions myself... Do they still hire hotshots... as in 3/4 to 1 ton pickups? How busy can they keep you and if possible to get an answer about the green part about it at the end of each week would be greatly appreciated.
