I want to get some information on driving for Walmart. Are they hiring ? What are the requirements ? How much does it pay ? How long do they keep a man out on the road ?:biggrin_25514:

They want only the cream of the crop drivers. The best work history/experience/driving record etc. They pay good, (it's secretive), run legal, decent equipment. I understand you run out of a certain DC (distribution center) and return back there on a regular basis. I have seen banners advertising for drivers at the Co. DC years back. And a hiring seminar thingy at the Pilot in Lenwood, Ca. a few years back (for Apple Valley DC). I talked to them and just didn't have that solid work history they wanted.

Go to Walmart.com and click on careers and you can apply online. Everything else is a big secret.

I have applied 2 times over the last year or so and never heard from them..

Perfect driving record, never an accident and clean Hire Right (DAC) record...
I guess they are REALLY picky!

Yah; but how many jobs have you had in the past 3 years? 10 years? That is what they look at if everything else looks good. They offer "the best" package in the industry.....and they only hire "the best" in prospects.

They actually (in my opinion) are the ONLY ones that diserve to have that criteria.....since they stand by it.

What kills me; are these other crappy companies that lie, cheat, and steal their way through life.....yet expect the best of the best. Give me a freak'n break! If you want the best of the best; you better give back what you are asking for.

What kind of a family life can a man expect while working for W.M.? I meet the criteria I've read about. But I'm just as picky as them, in that I want a great company, great pay, great benefits, great equipment AND I want to see my family on a regular basis. Is it reasonable to think I could work for them and be home in my own bed at night?

    mje and xllxmrjohnxllx Thank this.

Not really. They run OTR even the regional drivers. Home weekly probably but not nightly.
