A new career??

    Another thing to do Mike besides alot of research on the internet, is to go out to the nearest truck stop and talk to the drivers themselves, who drive for the companies you are interested in. Make out a list of your wants and needs...pay, miles, hometime etc...and take it with you. Just offer to buy them some coffee, or even a meal, and i'm sure they will be more then happy to fill you in on the good and bad. They will definately give you more accurate information then a recruiter.

    you may be a newbe but I those adds are to get you in then you will make a decent living but you will earn every penny. there is no free ride and no 100k even for a owner operaters. you have to take expences out before you can count your earnings. and owner operators have to pay for ever thing. I know because I was one for a short time. I'll just say it isn't for everone.
