I see. Hope your overweight ticket works out. I juost got off phone with recruter. All I have left to do is finish up with the dealer and get "truck paperwork" sent in. Dealing with dealers is........ , well it just stinks.

mine was 1.82 a mile according to my coordinator, i was also tops on his board. 22k for the month , little over 12,000 miles load and empty, dead head less than 75 miles per load . so a 1.71 seems very likely true

You don't keep track of it yourself? According to your cordinator? Did you know Mercer uses short miles for dispatch? Your true average may be much worse then what your cordinator tells you.

yes, i keep track of it myself. i was simply stating what my coord said after month end reports came out. that would be more apt to match up with the figures that chris swank quoted to the poster. at end of every month your coord can give you a rough idea of what you did, so far i average about 4,900 gross a week and

my figures came out to 1.807 a mile which actually is very close to mercers figures for the month. about a penny different .

and also my miles i run and my miles for dispatch come out very close, before i commit to a load , i run the miles on streets and trips by different routes types, such as shortest, prefferred roads, etc. so i dont end up with loads that are out of whack on paid miles versus " miles that any normal human being would run".
i will also look at load board and check freight before i take a load into an area, if nearest loads to always be a long deadhead i dont go there.
example current load 2.34 a mile 6,500 pounds total , unloads near nashville, tn went 37 miles to load it from unload point, reload at clarksville, tn 2.10 a mile 37 miles deadhead to clarksville. thats the way i usually work it

i dont look at deadhead as a cost of fuel type thing, i look at it as if it were a loaded mile. i figure the costs for deadhead same as i do for empty, thats why my goal is set at a 1.70 a mile for all miles ran loaded and empty.

Staying in the midwest is probably what I will do also. I have always done better staying in the midwest. But it is also more work than the long haul deal. Which I don't mind.

I would like to say that dealing with Mhc kenworth in Dallas is like dealing with "Jimmy the nose" and /or "Tommy two times"
