This is why you see the owners and a lot of employees at smaller gun shops, openly packing. They would rather discourage some idiot than to have to kill him.

IMHO, if a place sells firearms, they should have armed personnel. And NO, I DON'T THINK PLACES like Walmart should sell guns! I really don't want to see some of the clerks that are at our local Walmarts packing!(shudder)

Some how the term "He WENT WALMART" doesnt seem to inspire much concern to me.

Walmart only sells rifles and shotguns. Yet you still need the paperwork to pass.

Good point ... why is that? Why don't they sell pistols, etc.?

Walmart used to sell pistols - I bought two there in 1992 and 1994... I'm sure anti-gun groups protesting had something to do with it. Many Walmarts don't even sell shotguns or .22 rifles anymore.

I always thought the phrase was "he went POSTAL".... can't recall anyone shooting up Walmarts like those disgruntled postal works did post offices...

Tell ya what... if I was "Steve", the gun sales guy and I wasn't armed due to company policy, and some dude started sawing a lock off a gun.... you'd better bet that I'd be loading SOMETHING and taking him out - we're BBQing tonight, and I plan to be there!
