That was a bad one...horrible way to go, and completely preventable too.

    Sad.

back in the 90's I was in L.A. weather was bad raining real hard. A little pick up went past me. He got about 30 yards in front of me and lost control. I had no place to go so I hit the brakes and prayed ALOT. he disappeared under my hood. The first thing that went through my mind was #### this is going to hurt. I never saw the pickup again and never hit it. where it went I don't know but I had to stop and get my heart to slow down.

Same thing happened to me last year. I was on I-85 while a torrential downpour went through Greenville, SC. A 4-wheeler passed me in the hammer lane like his hair was on fire, never mind the fact that one could barely see past his hood since it was raining so hard. He hit a puddle in the road and, for a split second, his jalopy went (literally) sideways right in my path just a few scant yards from my hood. His car miraculously corrected itself either by skill or (most likely) dumb luck and he went about his business - but at a much slower speed. I'll bet he went home, changed his underwear, and thanked Our Savior for not letting him become a human hood ornament that day.

Question... what's with this? 2 years in trucking and already an "us against them" childish attitude? Come on, grow up, dude.

Motorcycle cops wear tall boots, sort of tradition...

There are cops on this forum, and as impartial as they can be, with dumb statements like yours picking a fight when there isn't one, how can you blame someone for a little attitude?

I hate to think... someone's kids got killed... and that truck driver is scarred for a while - at least lost the remainder of his day, and now has a fatality accident on his record - even though it wasn't his fault - he'll be explaining it for the next 10 years.
