The people who keep dogging Swift are probably people who got fired from them. I'm an O/O for them, and I don't have any complaints.

I used to be a trainer for Swift, so I say this with experience. They require 6 months of solo experience, which is still not near long enough. But its not 3 as you are saying. Don't get me wrong, I agree with most of what is said, but I still work for them. Now that has to say something about the company.

I think it says as much, if not more, about you as it says about the company.
Don't misunderstand my meaning here. Read this as a complement.

You can insert any of the mega fleet compnay names into this sentance. Drivers get fired and it is everyone elses problem but their own.

I don't get it. Don't get me wrong but from the time I joined this forum up to now, I don't think any body has anything nice to say about most any of the companies. If you are bashing a company and saying they are the worst, does that mean that you worked for them, and have personal experience with that company?
I am being forced into a new career, not by my choice but with the direction this country is going. I worked for a Utility company for 16 years, downsized and with 16 years was low person on Totem Pole. I have a CDL and have been looking for 7 months for work. Nope , sorry, you need otr, etc..... So... I do my homework, try other venues and finally decide that the best thing I can do to provide for my family is become a professional driver. I am actually looking forward to the challenges and know there is hardships involved. My family supports me in my choice.
So now I find this site and think WOW this is awesome, who better to talk to and get advise from regarding what companies are good and what aren't but on here. From drivers themselves.

There have been a lot of honest sincere people on here that answered some of my Threads that I started and I thank you for that. There are also a lot of existing threads here with a wealth of information to which I have read most of.

How is a NEWBEE SUPPOSE TO GET STARTED, when the only companies that will hire them are the ones you all bash?

The companies I guess you all work for are awesome and have no faults except for one.... they aren't willing to take a chance on a new driver. So the way I see it, instead of beating them all up, I think you should post about your company and how great they are, and maybe go ask your management why not give the new guy/ gal a chance. Especially the ones that are trying, paying their own way and trying to eek out a living to support their family. Instead we are forced to start with lower than average wages, home time etc...

I will most likely end up with one of the companies you all are bashing. It is okay, I am a survivor, hard worker, and I have bigger visions on my horizon. I will do what needs to be done to move up in this industry and get better pay, benefits etc.

I don't mean to sound harsh but I was raised to think in a different way. If you can't say something nice about someone or some thing then don't say anything at all.

Thanks for letting me vent. It is hard to make the right choices in life. I made one to start a new career, stop and think.. what would you do? I mean if you were in my shoes or some of these other new people? How would you feel?

    Drive safe all!
