I used to work for Kmart for so long, and their companies they hire are per price per region. So if one company is cheaper than another in District A, then they will hire said company in district A, but the adjacent district B may have a totally different company.
In Northern Michigan, where I resided, it used to be Swift, then they moved to Premier, then to Transport America.
So every driver who replied to this thread may be correct at some point, because they go where the cheap buck is.

Not sure who pulls freight out of K-Mart's DC in Ocala, FL. But I used to work for Sears at their corporate HQ in their logistics department as a Load Planner. and Sears did buy out K-Mart.
The way it works is Sears bids out their traffic lanes to the major TL carriers. So depending on what bid the company got is what carrier pulls that traffic lane. When I worked for them I dealt with JB Hunt, Schneider, Werner, ComTrak, Crete Carrier Corp., Swift, Transport America. And in the contract agreement with Sears, it states if one carrier can't cover a load, another carrier can, using another carrier trailer. So for example Swift had the lane from the Sears DDC (Direct Delivery Center) in Romeoville, IL to deliver to Sears HDC (Home Delivery Center) in Minneapolis, MN, and the freight is already loaded on a Swift trailer but Swift's power unit can't do the trip and I found Transport America who could cover the run, TA could pull Swift's trailer.
I planned loads for 9 DC's throughout the country specifically for home delivery to smaller regional home delivery warehouses then unto the residence for delivery.
The only negative I encountered is when I booked a full trailer load and lets say a pool table did not fit I'd have to book a separate 53ft trailer for one single pool table. thus cutting into my company bonus of saving trailer costs. but increasing the warehouse's bonus of getting the freight off their dock!
Also whenever we booked freight from a manufacturer to a Sears warehouse we'd booked the load and it went onto a list and was sent to a list of carriers authorized to do work with Sears and it went down the list until a carrier accepted that load. Sometimes a load would cancel out meaning nobody took it and I'd have to retender the load down the list again.Injun Thanks this. -

I drive for werner and I am currently on a load from kmart ocala to key largo. But I've also seen a lot of swift there.

when i worked in the kmart dc there, ( worked for contractor that handled housekeeping ) it was loddie doddie everybody, seen pretty much every carrier there at one time or another. docks were dirty and nasty ( i know, i and a buddy were the only guys ever to clean em ) but theres almost no rhyme or reason to how they pack a load, closetmaid in ocala is bad also, rely on wrap to keep their jenga game gone bad stacking together.

The plan is Sage in Ft.Pierce, cause ill be using my G.I Bill. the V.A had sent me a letter saying roadmaster wasnt approved. Probably go Werner since id be new ( though i did drive m931 w trailer in the army ) and are pet friendly ( cant leave him at home since neice is autistic, and has a problem staying away from his neck)

Well tomorrow i roll down to Ft.Pierce to talk to sage. have my g.i.bill letter,cpap readout etc in hand.only thing left out is physical, but they say they can do that there. so i dunno if any of ya will be in south fla or on i-4 in the afternoon
