Another Millis Experience

Sitting in a truckstop off I-86 in MD. Man these hills suck with 44k. I've been through VA, WV and MD all day climbing these mofo's and I am exhausted from it. I can't til the morn so I can get out of hillbilly heaven, lol.

Dropped in Winchester, VA and got dispatched to McCoole, MD to do a drop n hook. Wouldn't you know it they didn't have a loaded trailer and sent me to another warehouse in Keyser, WV to do a live load. That's the 3rd time in the past 2 weeks it was supposed to be a drop/hook and no loaded trailer. I had to go over my 11 and 14 to get to a safe haven. Took me an hour and 1/2 to go 42 miles because of the hills.

Tomorrow should be a piece of cake, heading to Richfield to drop. Back to running on flat land, lol. Be safe out there!

 

I have a 3 drop delivery in the morn in Buffalo and Rochester, so I stopped for the night in HarborCreek, PA. I'm 90 miles out but I was more or less out of hours anyway. So I stopped and got the truck washed, cleaned on the inside a little and got me some dinner. I really get bored when I have this much time on my hands.

 

Well here I am in HarborCreek. Seems like I was just here this morning. Wait, I was here this morning,lol. Trying to nurse my hours to get to WI so I stopped here again to camp out for the night. I'll have 8 hrs to run tomorrow. Was hoping to make it to Richfield but looks like that won't be happening. I'm almost certain I'll be doing a reset once I get up there after my delivery in Hartford.

I got my truck washed yesterday, so of course I had to hit a monsoon today in Rochester. Then got dispatched to pick up a load in Niagra Falls. What a crap hole that parking lot is. Fortunately I got in and out in about 45 minutes.

I'm looking forward to a long evening with no rush.

 

I guess I could give a quick update since it's been a couple of weeks. I took a couple of days off the end of the month to celebrate the anniversary with my beautiful bride. I got her a pair of diamond earrings. I thought diamonds didn't come til year 50 or something like that. Dang I'm a sucker, lol.

The past couple of weeks I've been everywhere between Wisconsin and New York and the Carolina's. Was coming back from SC via NC and I-40 thru TN. I stopped at this t/s at exit 340 or 440 can't remember. Anyway I was out of hrs so had to stop. This place was really a dump, not very much parking in the gravel lot and the t/s was actually closed down for good but the restaurant was open. I ordered an omelet, hash browns, toast, coffee. Total was $5.50 which was excellent. And the food was the best breakfast I think I've had. For such a crap hole it was great food.

Of course this dump had the lizard crew. I got woke up at midnight thirty by a loud banging on my door only to see some chick with a couple of teeth missing looking for love in all the wrong places. Are you kidding me I said. Needles to say I gave her $30 and we had a good time. LMAO I'm kidding I'm kidding. I told her politely no thank you my wife wouldnt appreciate it.

I've ran into Baritone, Kirk and Ryeman more this past month than the whole time I've been on the road. The company is always enjoyable and welcomed.

Right now I'm sitting at the t/s in Buffalo for "I'm out of hours!" Go figure. I'll hit the road with 8 hrs tomorrow. I should do a restart but I want to be in a better place if I do that.
