I dont take it personally. In the areas around IL, come harvest the elevators cant get enough trucks. So for 3-4 weeks I can make $600/day on 100-150 miles. You have the scrape yards using their trailers during harvest. Figured it would be the same in most areas but guess not. This year I will likely go from September till December as OH is still planting.

In the low $20's for the right trailer.
-
Did Wilson make a 58" side trailer back in '01? I am looking at a Commander that is priced right but has it spec'd at 41'x96"x58" Only looking at pictures now but sure looks like a 66".
-
You're only making $600/day during harvest? Are the elevators you're hauling to keeping banker's hours or waiting in some long lines?
I don't think Wilson made a 58" side trailer, 66" is the standard side measurement for a low side. -
How about high $20's? Got a 2005 Wilson Commander 41x96x78 air ride with alum wheels outside w/new brakes.
I've got it sitting on a sales lot now, here's a link to it if your interested. -
$600 is the budget number. Couple years ago it was a longer harvest but the sitting brought the averages down. Up till this season I have been working for a farmer. Some guys have been throwing around big numbers but until I see it I not a big believer. Hope it happens. When I plug the What i know is on a bad day my net is going to be twice what I make OTR.
Talkked to Wilson today. Never made a 58" and it has been a while since anything below 66". Talked to the seller and he did his own measurements. -
Thanks, looks nice but we need to stay at 66". We have a couple 2001's at $20k that look promissing. The farmer that I am contracted with for 3-weeks during harvest is buying it and I will rent it during other weeks. It is a good deal all around.
-
That's probably a realistic figure to budget with, taking into account rain out days, possible breakdowns, etc. A good day exceeds that number easily, but unfortunately so many things that make a good day possible are out of our control- how quicklh the farmer gets you loaded, how long the line at the elevator is, weather... I try just as hard on bad day,or harder, but it doesn't always show it.
