U2... I found it to be pretty ironic that the tow truck and road repair service were both the same company?? Even more strange is I remember the officer in charge asking at least two different times who was called to make the repairs.... Doesn't make sense to me because he should have no interest whatsoever who my company calls :biggrin_25513:

I cant remember where I heard or read about the scam... Its like searching a needle in a haystack. I tried with no results.

    Its very fishy indeed.

The link at the top was no good but the ABCNews article is frightening. How can anyone walk or drive down the street in this country and believe they are free. I believe we are not a free country. We simply enjoy more freedoms than some others and that gap is closing fast.

I've worked for several tow companies that had service trucks - doesn't it makes sense that the guys who do heavy towing also do road service calls.?.. in case a problem can't be fixed on the road and a tow is needed?

It makes sense that this road call company has tow trucks but guess I'm just in conspiracy mode because it is unusual that the officer who didn't do much talking once I was walking around filming would take such an interest who was called out....probably nothing to it but after today I could easily accept it as truth.

Also, most tow companies work on a rotation, whether it's a one car accident or 4 cars - the first company on the rotation list gets as many as they can handle and the rest gets handed off to the next company. Same with service calls.

Not many companies do service calls - and not many heavy tow companies in any one given area - usually not more than one or two, unless in a big town.

Not arguing or defending, just for clarification.

Once the LE got to the point of being a prick, I would have requested HER supervisor, they have to comply, if you didn't want to ask her(or him next time) call them yourself or have your company call...Not sure if this was your case, but during the only level 1 I had I had to sit in the truck which I think is BS, we should be able to watch them for our protection...

I was cited in Tye, Texas for using a city street to mail a letter in the local Post Office. (Bobtailing) I parked near the City's firetrucks (they were parked in the open at the time). The Tye cop, Jeff was so aggressive angry and over-the-top that I whipped out the disposable camera Safety gave me for pics of accidents. I got some truly PRECIOUS pics of red faced Jeff screaming at me to "Put that camera away NOW !!"". It was sweet revenge for the citation he issued to me to rip off a roll of pics and give them to a local lawyer. He agreed that they were really cute, Jeff looked like a Meth addict coming down off a long bender. Well, the Tye city Judge refused to dismiss it, so we took it to the county level. It was dismissed while my Attorney and the District Attorney had lunch the day of my trial. Oh- I was cited for violating the "City Ordinance" preventing truckers living in Tye from parking their cabs at their homes. Jeff was livid when he got the news.

I noticed the same thing on I-81 also and I promise next time to hammer down and get the hell on out of there. Btw, after they were done bending me over they closed shop. Yep, picked up and left in just a few mins....
