Home time is 1 day per week for company drivers. I have hauled a few loads into (and out of) there. Most of the loads I have taken in were from the Fontana terminal. I usually take my home time once per month, but every 3 weeks is prolly fine too. Being OTR, it may be tough gettin back every 2 weeks.
Pay is 28 cents per mile for company drivers. There is also quarterly safety bonuses, bonus for on-time delivery ($10.00 each), pay for washing out your own trailer ($15.00) if you can find a hose somewhere. After taxes it comes out to about 25 cents per mile; more miles, more pay. If they get him sitting a lot, he needs to keep "communicating" with his DM. At first nicely, if it keeps up, then start to be a pest. I got hosed my first month with Central and went through 2 DM's before I finally got happy.
Good luck to you both, Central isn't too bad, there are a lot worse companies out there.

Hey guys,
I looked at this video/article a few days ago and wanted to share it will you all; thought it was pretty interesting to get the perspective of a trucker on the other side of the world. Probably not typical of all drivers in that country, but this story had me thinking.

I got some question Does Central Refrigerated use Swift terminals? Also Does Central Refrigerated allow Swift to use their Trailers? I ask because a few months ago My uncle started driving for Swift, he stopped off at the terminal in Sparks, Nv I went & visited him while he was there. He showed me his rig while we were talking two swift truck came in not at the same time a hour from each other both pulling Central refrigerated trailers. One Dropped the Central refrigerated trailer & picked up a Swift trailer the other kept hooked than a Central refrigerated truck came into the terminal parked for 30 minutes than went & hooked up to the dropped Central refrigerated trailer than left. I know Central Refrigerated & Swift are owned by the same people but I thought it was weird Swift rollin with Central Refrigerated trailers & Central Refrigerated using Swift terminals.

Nobody tells us anything from the dayshift, but I can find out from a friend that I have on nights. I think they just have some sort of agreement. -

I've had 2 Igloo coolers, one enormous, and one that fits in the gap for the fridge in a Prostar. I love them. My only complaint with the small one we have now, is that sometimes the cooling unit gets a lot of ice, and when it melts, I have a small swimming pool. The cords are great too, if they melt down, or you step on the end and crush it, you just buy the replacement, and it has a quick connect near the cooler itself, with marking, so you don't heat your cooler.galloways Thanks this. -
