Woke up Saturday morning, doing my pre trip found a flat on the trailer. called the shop no answer, i figure it's too early and i got plenty of time so i wait. while i'm waiting road service comes in and starts working on some trailers in the corner. i go over and ask if they do tires too, they said yes. ok i'll mention it to the shop when i get ahold of them. I get the shop and they said they don't care who does it if it can be repaired, but if it has to be replaced it has to be Michilin national account, go ask them and call back. so i do and they are, so i call the shop back ant tell them, they say go ahead. guy drops what he's doing and gets to work on my tire. picked up some kind of brass or copper roll pin (looks like brass anyway). he patched up the tire, put in a new valve stem and charged me .5 hours labor. paid him and was on my way. stopped for fuel at a loves in OH and they had a hardies, so i decided to eat while i was there and take my company mandated 30 minute break. Get to Cplumbus and cops have 2 lane exit down to 1/2 lane due to a HUGE pot hole (my exit by the way), so that kills some time, but I can still get my 34 in. Get to KY line down 2 lane exit, right lane closed 1/2 mile broke down 4 wheeler blocking left lane at the exit got to get areond him then beat the other 4 wheelers so i can get in the left lane, start up the first hill and I hate my truck (detroit 60) got to get down to 7th to pull the hill. make it to MT Vernon, KY at MM 63 there is a fatal wreck last exit before that is 76, i find out about it at 68 stop set parking brake at 67. only sat for an hour, but i can still get my 34(barely) I will have 34.5 hours from the time I got here untill the earliest time I can deliver tomorow.

do you always take the .5 hour break?

    I've never done it lol

Looking at that map looks like you've covered a good bit of the country for a month or so on the road

they just want us to do it, just like the tie check......:biggrin_2554: No freakin way i'm going to waste 30 min of my 14 every day, or slow down, come to a stop, get out, walk around, get back in, and get back up to 65, every 3 hours on line 3! :biggrin_25523:

I'm out here to make money, I do my pre-trip and then drive till i run out of hours unless i need to fuel or have to go to the bathroom. When i do stop i'll do a tire check as well, but im not stop just for one.

If you do all that you'll never log 700+ miles in 11.5 hours like i do lol

i don't get 700 mile runs. I get around 600 from start to finish, on the rare occasion get anything longer i always have MORE than enough time to get there.
