Ban On Smoking

When Ohio finally banned smoking in all public places a few years ago, the smoking regulars at my local Waffle House all threw a royal hissy-fit. On the first day of the new ban, I was ready for them. I brought in 3 cases of candy cigarettes for them LOL

 

i lit a smoke up in a canadian truckstop restaraunt a couple years ago--(ok i wasnt thinking)
holy crap--you would have thought i pulled out an ak-47 and slapped a clip into it

 

" you still don't get it. it should not be up to you or any other person to decided if a owner should allow smoking in his establishment or not. It shoudl be up tot he owner and the owner only. It should not be up to the Gov either ". Not when it harms or puts people in danger.

 

Delta they cant have that because the suger will kill them . lol

 

Maybe yes, maybe no. But personally, Im glad that I can go into a resturant and enjoy my food, which was rare in truckstops until now, without having to breathe cigarette smoke. I applaud the states that took action on this...

holy crap--you would have thought i pulled out an ak-47 and slapped a clip into it They take the NO SMOKING ban seriously up there, yet you have to WALK through the SMOKERS HAZE heading in / out of just about every store , bar , restraunt as they huddle together in the cold.

 

Please explain. Don't go waving that cancer thing around either becuase I know alot of people that have smoked all their lives and have not yet contracted cancer. Yet I know alot of people that do not smoke and are not around people that smoke and they have cancer.

Please tell me how others are in danger if I have an establishment were everyone that works there are smokers and they smoke in the break room in areas were the public are not allowed.

Same with the truck I drive. No one else drives it and no one gets in it for any reason. Hwo am I causeing anyone and danger????

Funny, I see and hear people cying and whining about smoking and a resturant but yet I see 95% of the people sitting in a resturant eating extremely high fat content foods along with them carrying and extra 30 or more pounds of fat on their bodies. You know this is another huge cause for heart disease.

But then I don't really care about that either as I am carrying some extra baggage myself and love a good steak with alot of marbling with a big helping a Potatoes and some corn on the side. Or a nice double cheeseburger at lunch time. Or that big stack of pancakes with bacone and eggs for breakfast. MMMMMM

 

i am not even sure where it is legal to smoke in canada anymore--i dont believe any public place is smokable---no job place is ok--really just your vehicle and your own premises i guess

but yet its ok to spend x number of hours air arcing then welding --with no real ventilation--just dont light that smoke when you take a break

 

Because you are using the same ventilation system. So really you are breathing the same air as the customers. If you are sitting next to someone eating fatty food they are not going to get fat by sitting there. But there is a chance that if you are smoking a cig you will give the 6 people around you health problems.

 

Oh give me a break with the health problems already. If you are so worried about your health then maybe you should live in a bubble were the air is completely filtered etc. Oh and forget driving a truck with all the dirty air coming out of the exhaust and possibly seeping into the cab through any nook and cranny. Oh and you better stay away from that bottled sore bought water. That stuff is actually more contaminated then the stuff coming out of your kitchen sink. Not to mention alot of todays foods and all the chemicals used to grow it, feed it etc.

Dam, we should all be dead by now.

There are alot of places that don't allow smoking by the owners own choice. No one is forcing you to go into a place that does allow smoking are they. You can make the choice yourself and I am sure the owner won't mind either way. Go in and deal with it or go find a place the fits your needs. No one will stand in your way from leaving if you so choose.

I would place a sign at the door stating that smoking is allowed. if you were to come in and cry and whine about the smoking then I would be more then happy to point your way to the Exit and I would do it with a huge smile. My place, my rules, since I pay the bills.

I call it freedom. Free to make the choices we want not matter what the might happen.

Maybe some people that think the Gov should control everything should move to someplace were they do???

Funny thing is that the town I live in has a smoking ban in all public buildings except Bars. The non smokers keep trying to get Bars added to the list but it keeps getting thrown out. The state also keeps trying this but it also gets thrown out. We used to have a real nice non smoking bar. It went out of business because no one went there. My best freinds wife owns a Bar/lounge/steak house. She has a completely seperate bar area that has its own freshair system and filtration system. it is all setup liek the main bar in which smoking is allowed. No one ever goes into the clean area. The eating area is completely sealed and no smoking is allowed because or our city ordinance. It has its own door to get in and out. No one complains. if I go there and have a meal and decide I need an after dinner smoke then I go into the main bar and have a quick smoke. it is better then standing outside the door and lighting up.
