Been sitting at the house for the last five days,Stevens calls me up and offers me 150 dollars to come back early because of all the freight sitting on the yard.Im thinking to myself, yeah if we didnt have to talk to every blanking department on the yard when we came in,maybe you wouldnt have so much freaking freight stacked up.Give me a break, right,im gonna come backi early for 150 dollars.lol.It was almost an insult,LMAO.No I think Ill hang at the house and lay around the pool for three more days.I quess they thought 150 dollars was a lot of money or something. You guys be careful.

Well planners strike again!
dld of 2:04. My 10 is over, get my deadhead at 62 all the way to arrive at 0130. Leave with load at 2:30. Run 630 miles to Des Moines, shut down for day, leave at exactly 10 and run 646 miles last night to Columbus.
So I've not been lollygagging around.
First drop is at 10 tomorrow morning (552 miles from here) in Jersey, the second is at 1400 in Philly...52 miles away. the third is in Jersey on tuesday AM at Costco.
Second drop appt was set AFTER I picked up the load.
I explain to them I can make the first and the third, but not the second.
they don't seem to understand.
"but you accepted the load! Can you run a little faster and use your hours better?"
well, we'll see. Now where did I put those JATO bottles?
It will be fun tomorrow! -
Thanks for the headsup smokr...will avoid Dallas until the Smokr Weather passes.
Made my 3 deliveries in LA, and then off onto a produce load, 3 picks, first 60 miles south of LA, other 2 in the imperial valley... First pick was a small place, only one dock door, but in and out, so I still had drive time left, so I headed on down to I8 and stopped at the Golden Acorn Casino... Their trucker card makes eating there reasonable.. breakfast is $2.99 plus $1.99 for the coffee. Since neither of my picks opened until 9am Saturday, I slept in.. Arriving in El Centro at 9am, but the all important lady who controls everything, checkin, loading, was late for work... she strolled in about 930... loading did not start until 1030... got my 2 pallets, and at 11 up the road to Calipatria. Where I waited and waited, it was only 98 in the shade, 110 on the truck thermometer. 7 hours later, I am loaded... sure killed Saturday... Scaled out, legal, and make it to Yuma AZ, before my 14 is up.
Funny part is Sam says this should be no trouble getting to cheshire CT by Thursday. That was on Friday afternoon. My answer, was all depends on the shippers..
Looks like I will be giving this load up Tuesday... No way I can make it now, and it was questionable with my hours anyway.. Would have ran out of my 70 on Wed, but with Saturday I have the hours, just not the Calender Time.
Such is life.
And Frog... I would have told them NO too. $150 to give up 3 days of rewind time.. not near enough. Money is not everything. -
Yeah,my wife answered when they called I was out on the golf course. She told them Ill tell him,I wouldnt expect a call back when he gets in,lol.I laughed, grabbed a Miller Lite out of the fridge, headed for the grill and pool.Plus I gotta see the Mavs put a whipping on the Heat and shut all these Mavericks haters up.Run the hell out of it Tlea,be safe everyone.Besides, without Cheney there now I have to sit out in the office for however many hrs. it takes to do my safety talks, where as I use to just walk back to Cheney's office. It was one of the perks of being a trainer.I was told your not special,I said yeah I know, buts its nice to be treated like I am every now and then, lol.Ill hit the truck monday night, finish my crap tuesday, grab a driver, and have 8 days before my 2nd truck payment is due, after 8 days off.Who says you cant take any time off on the dark side. They hate me,I use their system against them.I was out 4 weeks this last time and took 8 days off.Not exactly what they wanna see, lol.Ill transflo 3500 miles today to cover payments and be ahead when I come back.Wheres the Miller Lite.Plus I banked over 4 grand while I was out.I feel so fleeced.

Since when is it on the driver for accepting the load? We are forced dispatched, except for the legal disclaimer to keep us independent contractors. I have been hearing this more and more...
Wonder what will happen when I inform them I will run out of my 70 before I reach cheshire?
Frog, inform those of us that avoid the yard, what happened with cheney? He was there the last time I was on the yard.
I took 2 weeks off, and enjoyed the memorial day weekend in Charlotte... Came back, transferred enough from my hometime account to cover the two weeks, and transflowed today, for my paycheck. A smart business man always uses the system to their benefit... Stevens writes the contract to their benefit.
I am running the hell out of it, until I am out of hours, then it is their problem...
I have not said anything all weekend long, as I do not want to deal with the weekend crew, and how they do repowers, taking care of their special people, and screwing over the other driver. -
Well, for those of you that dont know,Mr. Cheney has taken a sabbattical so to speak.I had an idea that something was coming, every time I talked to him when I would come to the yard,he was talking to me about land in the area that I lived.Well the last time I was asking him if he had found any,and he says, yes I found twenty acres in the hill country around llano.Thats all he would tell me.Then we get a message on the Q.C. that he was taking a leave.Hope thats all it is.He was one of the few up there that would treat you with respect and would make you feel like you were important.Very fair, well spoken individual that chooses his words with care. Now,with the wasted salaried individual running much of it,wont get into who that is.It will be interesting to see how the trainers are treated.Im not one to keep my mouth shut when Im not treated with respect.Could be some confrontations in store for the future if this individual doesnt get smarter and treat senior experienced drivers with the respect they deserve.I personally have never talked to this individual, but have watched his actions, and talked to other drivers that have been treated poorly in his company. We shall see,I will hold judgement until I have first hand knowledge.Lets hope Mr.Cheney comes back.I believe, dont really know, that he is down working on his property.Hurry back Mr.Cheney.
