Does anyone know what could cause this issue. 12.7
Truck runs great all day pull into truck stop shut it down after cool idle and then will not restart on its own. Give it a shot of starting fluid start up runs great on the way home shut it down after sitting short time wont start unless use starting fluid. It acts like it is not getting fuel or its loosing prime to the fuel rail. Is the valve on the backside of the fuel pump the problem?
    Thanks

Don't know as I have only had mine a couple of weeks, but sometimes after sitting maybe 2 days, mine does not want to start. It will finally fire up after cranking on it hard and it chugging like an old tin lizzie for a minute.

srs usually causes "crank/no start at all"if one sensor tip is worn/damaged,preventative replacement on the other is good idea.not to expensive.can keep old one as spare.

I take it you have a Freightliner, look into the fuel tank with a flashlight and look at the fuel return line, if it is blowing out air then you have to find and fix that problem. Before you shut it off look in and see if it is blowing bubbles. When you removed the fuel filters were they stained with carbon? If you remove the primary filter before you start it is it full? Clamp off the fuel line to the tank to stop it from draining back. Do you have fuel pressure while cranking?
I have never found a problem with the check valve at the back of the head. I worked at Detroit and Freightliner. On thousands of them, changing sensors also is called diagnosis by the ripping and tearing method. You might as well change the CB, chances are the same of fixing it.
To get the best answers you need to tell us the make, model, and year of your truck, the more you give the easier it is to help

check for leak in fuel lines and O rings on water separator. when it shuts off check if there is any fuel in fuel filter, if it's all sucked out then it's sucking in the air.
