a friends truck got graffiti and I used GOJO hand cleaner with pumice and it literally melted the paint off.

You want to use rubbing compound and a polisher if you want to do it right without screwing up the paint underneath.

Turtle wax distributes rubbing compound to the chain retailers. Then you want to finish it up by using a polishing compound to restore the gloss.

lacquer thinner wont hurt your clear!! i do it all the time when i screw up a paint job, that`s why i clear it before i start airbrushing i`ve done this on harleys and a brand new vette. but if it was painted on with one shot sign paint and chances are pretty good it was then you want turpentine.

that`s how a pro sign painter does it.. do that to a guys harley and you might not have a head. i had my own custom paint shop from 04 till this spring, closed it because the 2 paper mills in my area folded. i was a pro. :biggrin_25524:

You are correct... it's all hand painted. That's Billy Hoffman from Milwaukee... an old buddy of mine. He used to letter my pace cars when I was a racing promoter and my race cars when I drove.

A true hand painted sign is still a joy to behold... way classier than vinyl IMHO.

i agree. hand painted is better than vinyl any day. it`s a lost art and not alot of people do it anymore. not around here anyway.
