Hello everyone,
It has been awhile and there have been a few changes in my life to say the least.
First off, I am no longer a Crete driver. As a matter of fact I am no longer a truck driver. WOW! Never saw that one coming.
As the saying goes, it's not what you know but who you know and it just so happens one of the people I know came across a business opportunity and was kind enough to give me a call and invite me along for the ride.
One of my neighbors and good friends that I meet while living in North Caroline managed to get himself distribution rights in Arizona of a new technology aimed at commercial buildings and I am now a Sales Rep for this fine product and doing rather well. It's a definite change of life style, but I do believe I will be able to adjust to being home every night.
It will be a bit odd living like a human being again, although I have to admit, I am having serious withdraws from missing the nomadic lifestyle that I have become so accustom too. Although I do still get to bounce around the country a little bit. But instead of bouncing in a truck I get to bounce around in air turbulence. And instead of sleeping in the back of a sleeper, I spend my nights in Sheridans and Hyatts. And get this, someone else pays for everything. I think I can get used to this. I mean, come on, I'm sitting next to guys at these meetings that complain about all the traveling they have to do. Give me a break, flying out of town once or twice a month. Boo Hoo!
I'm going to miss the truck driving life, but I always knew that sooner or later I would have to find a different way to make a living. When this opportunity dropped in my lap I just had to take it. I wasn't expecting a change at this time, but the financial gain I'm looking at verges on the point of ridiculous.
Back to the White Collar world.
So I will no longer have miles and driving adventures to post. But I will certainly keep and eye on the thread and pipe in from time to time.
My time with Crete was both rewarding and fulfilling, and I will continue to jump up and down proclaiming that Crete is the BEST OTR company on the road and if for some unforeseen reason I once again find myself behind the wheel of a Big Rig, Crete will be the first company I call.
But for now, it's back to work. Gotta do some more presentations. Buffalo Wild Wings needs me and they don't even know it. YET!

Hopefully, JDRENTZJR and SuperSnack can pickup the slack for me, not that I've been around all that much of late anyways.
Best of luck to all that are still out there and drive safe.
p.s. Everytime I drive my car somewhere, I still feel like I'm going to get in trouble for not logging it.Jimbo56, Jarhed1964 and truckdriver402 Thank this. -
Well another chapter ends. Your leaving Crete and Bronc and Mastertech have removed "Here we go. Finally an Owner Operator". We will certainly miss your tales from the road Evertrucker, but I don't think there is a person that has followed your thread that won't miss your exploits.
Thanks and I wish you the best in your new career.evertruckerr and Hott Rodd Thank this. -
Congratulations, ET! It certainly will take some time to adjust to being off the road! Enjoy your new 'venture!

I'm definitely with ya on the earnings! I had to leave the cab of a truck for two reasons, an 8 year old demon-seed that needs more of my guidance at home before he runs completely amok, and the better income I'm getting running my own little insurance brokerage. Hard work, but I get to sleep in my own bed at night (sometimes that is a positive thing, sometimes I really don't care).
I'm sure you know though, you'll find yourself staring at trucks on the highway and going out of your way to get coffee and gas at the truck stop rather than your local sources. Watch out! It'll bite ya!
Congratulations brotha!!evertruckerr Thanks this. -
