Just to show some here at the difference from what one broker offers vs another broker that has the same exact load.....
Broker "A"
Flatbed. Loads on 6/24 in Mountain home Id, delivers in Fairbanks Ak. 2713 miles - $8,500
Broker "B"
Flatbed. Loads on 6/24 in Mountain home Id, delivers in Fairbanks Ak. 2713 miles - $9,800
Both loads (same load) are currently posted on the same loadboard as I type this today.
As an aside, as good as these loads seem to pay, diesel in Tok Ak today as I type this, is $4.89/gal which means it's well over $5.00/gal in the Yukon and northern British Columbia. And whoever hauls this load up will VERY likely come out of Alaska empty. -
Not to mention that anyone running a load to Ak and back will be covering some roads with "character". I've heard from a few drivers that it's worse than anything we cover in the lower 48. That round trip would likely have some repair bills attached to it.

Ive driven the entire Alaskan highway in my largecar, and 90% of it is in very good shape. Way smoother road than anything in illinoiz, Ill tell you that. LOL

The frost heaves really are horrible in the yukon.
I 39 in Illinois, last time I was on it, made the frost heaves seem smooth. -
Illinoiz resident defending his home state....(grin)
The only rough section of the ALCAN is from about Destruction Bay Yukon to the border - beaver Creek Yukon.
I'll take Alaska and Canadian roads over Illinoiz roads every day of the week, and twice on Sunday....('nuther grin) -
Major repairs taking place on 39. Got delay 2-hours last week when some Chicago, I can't read or speak English, I'll take the load for fuel money driver didn't want to, or couldn't, read the sign that said "Trucks Use Left Lane". Got off onto the soft shoulder and dumped it on the side.
It could have been worse. DOT got out there with big dozer and just pushed tractor, trailer and all the cargo into the construction lane. -
Most of them are even ltl drivers. -
This stuff drives me crazy. Along with speeding in TS. These guys that grab 5 or 6 gears coming out of the pump. Was scaling out the other day and they had problems with computer so a couple of us had to rescale. Guy that was behind me ran to his truck and started driving like a mad man to get around me.
What makes my day is when they get pulled over in a construction zone. Cha-ching.
