Hey There How you doing? Funny, I thought I saw you Northbound in Georgia Wednesday, but all those Calex trucks look alike,
I was parker at exit 1 in GA Wednesday, and a treee fell on the trailer, broke when it hit mine, and fell across three others, two trailers, one tractor. The tractor had a lot of damage, my trailer came out of it clean. I really lucked out. Took the city of Kingsland about 3 hours to get a cherrypicker with a winch to get it all cleaned up. They really dis a great job, even the kingsland police did a great job. I am home for the weekend, and then off to Brownsville. Hope you and the wife enjoyed the Keys.
Take care, and watch out for thr Crazies.

Hey there stranger. Sorry to hear about your bad luck, or should I say good luck? In any event you weren't hurt which is a good thing. I'm sure it was me you saw Wednesday, I just loaded by Ocala and was heading north about 3pm. I'm up in Schenectady getting empty, then drop and hook in the am for the house. Be safe Larry, maybe we'll meet up soon.

Well it really isn't earth shattering, but here it is. First off, understand some of my thinking is old school. The one thing I try and do is get my freight off my wagon as soon as I can. I had a load of watermelons on in a dry van. My instructions from dispatch was to open the trailer doors every few hours to vent the trailer and get fresh air over the melons so they don't rot or get moldy.

Now mind you, we just got a message that very morning from safety telling us we are not allowed to log ourselves out of our E-logs. Well 5am the morning of my delivery, being 3 hours short to deliver on time that's exatly what I did. After getting to the consignee on time I called into safety and owned up to what I did. My punisment was 5 days off, after I went to California and back, then to Orlando to unload. From there I went home to take my 5 day suspension. After parking the truck, my wife and I got on my bike and rode down to Key West for the weekend. After that we were at the beach the next two days. So yes, I took my punishment like a man.

I owned up to it, I was totally in the wrong and I took the punishment without any argument from me. It's a difficult position that safety and dispatch are in. Of course the driver is in the middle.
