One thing I've noticed since being on the road for three weeks now. There's a lot of Werner tractors out there! o_o I've seen at least 3-1 ratio of them versus our own Prime vehicles. Also, I see lots of Schneider, Central, and even Swifties! Crazy. :)

Depends on where you're at. The next time one of those Werner trucks goes racing by you, remember... you're getting paid in training just about what those guys get week-in and week-out as a CDL driver.

There's lots of cheap freight for those guys to pull.

And here I had the newbie mindset that they simply had more freight to haul around, not so much cheap. And we PSD people get paid roughly the same as they do? Ouch. :p

At any rate, I see enough Prime to make me happy that I joined up. For now, it's bed time. :biggrin_25518:

IIRC they split 26 cpm for team freight to start.

Doesn't bother me if I get passed. I go around 58-60 non-stop and manage 6.8-8.5MPG in this Peterbilt thing. :p Going through Tennessee to Arkansas I saw a ton of Swift trucks. They even had their own section at the Walmart Distribution Center here in Monroe, GA! :p Lately though, since we're in my home state, I've been looking at companies that offer regional spots so if I don't stick with Prime I can hopefully hook up with one of the guys out here. :) So far, three weeks and about 100hrs in! Going to test this Wednesday after we take a load from McDonough (Ken's Foods) to a Food Lion out in Dunn NC :D

62 on the pedal, 65 cruise. Doesn't matter... you have to maintain 6.75 mpg week over week to stay employed on the company side. That includes idling if you're in a truck without an APU.

Do the trucks have a way of seeing what your mpg is at or do you basically have to wait till they yell at you?
