up untill two weeks ago was grossing about 3k a week just between Houston and Dallas and Tulsa. that's not much but when you think it's only about 350 mi a day so my fuel cost is only about $1300 it's the same money I netted at my last company running over 5k mi a week and only going home once a month.
My old co screwed me out of $1000 which was my truck payment. so I had to hit the road. went up to MN and back in 4 loads last week and got a good paying load to California this week.
now If we had a way to make these #### loads get confirmed maybe I could get out of here. I have no desire to run around in CA. 4 loads back to TX, none are confirmed

Now you're talking! Just curious, on the choice program, who is the broker? SNI? Or do they deal with the broker, and just throw the loads on an SNI load board? Have you ever been able to figure out how much, per centage wise is stolen by whoever the broker is?

the loads are all listed off the scac/scnn network. most are schneider loads some aren't. the price listed is the rice to the truck. I get 65% of the load and all the FSC. you always know what the fsc is so its not hard to know what the gross is but to be honest I prefer to not know. As long as it's good enough for me I'm happy. When I start dealing with the gross rate vs what I get I start obsessing about how much i'm giving up and I start thinking of going independant again

Gotcha. I'd probably be one to obsess about it, but I see your pointe. You're going to get, what you're going to get. If ya don't like it, don't take the load. I was just curious if the loads you see aren't double brokered, if you will. It's good to see they aren't. I don't know if that's even legal. So, even if they were, SNI and the broker would only have the 35% to split? Bear with me, I'm learning here.
I'm getting 23-25% of the load, while a bit on the low side, I don't have the expenses like you do, everything is owned/paid for by the company, I'm a typical company driver. That doesn't mean I'm not considerate with idling, easy on the truck, etc. I don't like breaking things, whether it's mine or not.
The other program SNI has, I can't remember the name of it, the one where the driver has a fixed payment per mile, and gets the FSC always seemed a bit on the low side to me, but then I was always getting it confused with the choice program. -
I wouldn't run the mileage program but that's just me. I don't like other people dispatching me. I know guys on it and they like it. many make more then I do but they spend alot more then I do too because they are running alot more miles for not so much more money

ya, it doesn't sound that attractive to me either. I'd have to figure, "It's my truck, I'll pick my own loads".
I guess a guy just starting out though has to be on that program for a year, I'm assuming SNI figures it as a learning curve.

Any body know if you can just join Schneider and become an L/O or do you need to work with the company a certain amount of time first?

I knew a couple guys that were in the same orientation class as myself that leased new trucks through SNI, but had been L/O previously. Give them a call and get the latest info.
