i believe the maxxforce 13 liter is a mann engine from germany but they should be building them in alabama with newer updates and changes by now, also the 15 liter is the cat block and head with new fuel and air system coming out this fall, there also suppose to be working on a DPF solid cartrige that gets replaced at every oil change unlike the liquid you have to add on other trucks, but if that doe's not work out then the T-600 or T-660 will be for me, thanks for the update and keep us posted on the problems the prostar PLUS and the freight shakers are going thru

Chrome, and others, while I have nothing to compare it to other than this cummins isx, sorry the dd15 has no power, no jake, no nothing. The def (yes, cheaper at thje pump, and still costs more than the oil this burns) doesn't do anything to improve power. For example the hills on 58 going toward tehachapi, with 5,000 less pounds gross, the cascadia was consistently pulling not as well as this, and even at full throttle, it went 10 mph less by the time we topped the hill. They say it is supposed to do better at lower rpm, and we were told not to downshift until 1100 rpm, but if you did that, the truck remained castrated throughout. We do the same runs over and over, and the fact they left the cascadia governed at 72 was the only way we could make up the time we would lose going up grades. Again, I can't compare it to any other detroit, nor can I compare it to much else, but I wouldn't pay for a cascadia to save my life. I have heard about the numerous issues with the prostars but they claim to "have all the bugs worked out," and I don't trust that statement. Just like they told us at first noone else was having oil consumption issues. We have nearly 250k on their stupid tracking chart and now we are told that there are so many tracking oil consumption it is tough for mark hadley and joe (the cummins rep) to keep them all straight. So, were you lying then, or are you lying now?
We would not be where we are without leasing, and I really think we wouldn't have learned as much either, however if I were deciding whether to lease or not, I would think long and hard about it, and really believe I would just as soon buy a pre egr truck and lease on somewhere and stay company until I could do so. That is my opinion. -
Great Info Thanks. Do the trucks they give company drivers have APU's or do they let you idle? I am not someone who always needs to have the heat or AC on, but when it's a 110 or -5 outside its nice to be able to run them so you can sleep properly.
-
No APU. As for idling you have to keep the idle below 30% or they bill you for excess fuel. on the otherhand get over 9500 miles in a month and keep the idle below 20% and they pay you a penny mile. I did over 12k last month and will get $123 in my next check.AmericanDriver Thanks this. -
Any tips for keeping the idle bellow 20%?
-
For heat you have a bunk heater that keeps you warm. Cold in summer is not an option with out idle or apu. They are really tough on over idle on company drivers due to fuel prices right now. I lease but I still don't like to idle much so I keep a 20" fan on a small inverter. Works till its bout 95 then ya got no choice on idle.
AmericanDriver Thanks this. -
Simple shut off the engine whenever you can.. My Idle % usually hovers around 7%. Cold doesn't bother me, but heat does. So before I #### off the truck I get it as cold as possible
AmericanDriver Thanks this.
