I had put in several job applications and had several job offers. I'll be taking a road test and drug screensfor Gold Spur on Friday. It's my understanding that Texas is the place to be. Life is full of opportunities and risks you just have to be willing to take a few chances and go for it. I'm making this move from Georgia. I see this as a way to financial get ahead. I'm tired of just keeping my head above water.

I've been driving for over 15 years and I'm well aware that no company is perfect. It just a matter of how much BS you're willing to put up with.
I'll keep you posted on my new adventure in Texas.

You need to understand this Texas boom isn't going to last but 3-4 more years, anything over that and alot of folks will be surprised.

    Be wise with your money

I agree with being wise with your money and that nothing last forever when it comes to the oilfield but this has been going on more than 5yrs.

Over the last two weeks I've submitted application after application by website or mail or fax. Of those that took time to contact me said the same thing: "You don't have enough recent experience." Well it seems like I'll have to take truck drivers training to get to work back on a truck. I've been told that it is the insurance company policy to hire drivers that have at least had 1 or 2 years of driving a tractor trailer in the last 3 years.
I spoke with PAM transport and they directed me to a "Driver Agent". Well I spoke with the driver agent this morning and am to call them back tomorrow. They say they pay a $1200 sign on bonus AFTER completing the school. Here is how that pay works:
$200 after completing school. (3 weeks)
$500 AFTER 90 DAYS when you pass your HazMat written.
$500 AFTER 180 DAYS when you have your HazMat (pending background)
I don't think my family can live off of the $200 for 3 weeks while I am at school. But If I can swing it I will.
ALSO. I understand that PAM and USA will pay for a referral. If someone wants to get the referral payment from PAM or USA let me know. I will probably be attending the mid July class in Fort Worth with C1.

Hope you're a smoker. See the C-1 truck all the time. Pulls up under bridge on 820 w and out they come. Sometimes as many as 6. All light up and stand around for half an hour.
