N14 Cummins in a farm tractor. Mechanical governor. Factory rebuilt about 2 years ago. Unit starts, runs for about 5 seconds and smothers out as if it runs out of fuel. Starts right back up with same problem. Gravity feed fuel system. Tried two new fuel filters. Puled injection pump and sent in for repair. Still has same problem. Suggestions? Thanks

Have you looked at the oil pressure sensor? Hubby had his go out and it would do exactly what you are describing. It will shut your engine down if it doesn't read enough oil pressure. Hubby says the sensor is on the bottom left side of the motor, just above the oil pan.

Manual engine, no electronics. Oil pressure comes up when running.

same problem once, took fuel lines off and blew a small gravel out of line from the tank.

make sure you don't have a rag or something like that in fuel tank blocking the pickup.
