    Aloha to all,
I started with CRST and signed the 8 month contract since I did not have the funds for driving school. I'm not going to bi**h why I want out but since I typed CRST you can guess why. Another company wants me and heard nothing but great things about them and of course a lot more money. They do not want to touch me though due to the contract. How can I bail without a bad termination?:biggrin_25511:

Better have an Attorney look for a way out.
Most Companies have one write the contract so just bailing could be bad for not only your record, but also your wallet.
Sadly, you signed it and took their offer to pay for schooling so you may be stuck there.

Crst is looked down upon in the trucking community. I fight for toll reimbursement and I don't get paid the miles promised by the FM. Planned my first home time for some special family event and got home 5 days later ): Basically broken promises. I heard good things about Schneider and that is where I want to go. Keep looking for another company!

Some companies may offer you the opportunity to payback the tuition and most companies that want to take you on after you graduate will cover the payback as long as you work for them a yr. Only problem is alot will require that the 1st company validate your training. Example-Company A, Cdl training wants 1yr commitment/school is therefore free. Company B, takes over tuition cost i.e. BTC, Maverick, TMC as long as you stay employed there. With this company that doesn't want to touch you while you're under contract doesn't sound like they reimburse tuition and if that is the case the $$ isn't worth it for your situation. Hope this helps in your decision and best of luck!!

Take the contract to an attorney. If there is a way out, that's the only way it will happen with a good ending for you. Walk away from the contract and the truck - CRST will trash your future.

Otherwise... put in your time, get out the right way, then go to a different company.

I really agree with this. If you bail early in your career, you have the DAC problem, collections, and little experience to go on. The next point is crucial... if you bail on CRST, why would another carrier take a chance on you?

This is an unfortunate example of the importance of researching before deciding. I'll bet you're younger and eight months seems like along time. At 54 I'm thinking of buying another truck after owning a couple over the years. I am working several plans and one will take three years but will almost guarantee success even in bad economic times. The point being you probably have many more productive years ahead of you than I do.

Stick it out if you can. You commited and got what was offered to you, give what you pledged in return. Keep your eyes open and if you find an equitable exit strategy, use it. If not then stay. A clean record, stable work history and reputation for doing what you say will give you access to opportunity that others won't see.
