Started my work week like any other woke up at 4:30 toped of the oil and fluids. Filled it up and was on the job site by 6:00. Ran great for the 1st 150 miles of the day. Then at a stop light i noticed coolent steaming off the rad.. Pulled over noticed it was coming out og the overflow.. Thought not to much of it as it has happend when i topped it off before so i set the hood down and got on my way. About an hour later i shut it off to have a word with a guy in the scale office and when i fired it back up i noticed white smoke billowing fromt he stacks.... Uhhhh my heart sank. Quickly unloaded and limped it back to a lot where i could check the oil and see if it was white. Shut it down for 5 min and when i tried to start it it was full of water and wouldnt crank. Bumped it til it started and when it did water just started pouring out of the manifold and heads. Anyways she has almost 750k on everything but rods and mains. What route should i take? Just rebuild the whole thing? Est was at 10 to 12k for a rebuild without injectors and turbo i think. Can you build monsters out of the n14? If im gonna spend that kind of money id want to makle some good power out of her.. Any advice?
My N14 460e Took its last breath at 735000.

Can't help by answering your question and giving advice, but I wanted to take a moment to express my sympathy of your motor going South on you. I hate reading threads like this. Hope everything gets resolved to your satisfaction.
The Challenger and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
Sorry to hear of its PASSING .
What make / model of truck is it in , is it worth the $ for a motor or rebuild , or time to update the whole thing./? -
sometimes it is better to get used engine, ore engine with some failed things to swap from your engine.
bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
its in a 95 t800 kw quad axle dump. For a 95 the truck is immaculate. Problem is i just bought it 4 months ago =( so shes new to me and i still owe lots of green on her so i cant dump it.. Thanx for the sympathy.

You should be able to get an inframe for less than 6k.
Shop around and find an independent shop that is hungry, let them compete for your business. Don't be one of those fools that just hands over a blank check to a dealer shop. -
Sound of things it warrants a engine T800's makle a nice dump unit.

Spend the money and get it rebuilt. The kits can be had for about $3K. N14's are good motors if taken care of.
You can program the ECM to 525 maybe even 565 -
Get the inframe and skip the injector's and turbo for now. And go find a reliable mechanic, ask your buddies.

I agree with this, but also have them check the ohms of the injectors while they are out of the engine, and get the valves re-laped. I would also put in a new fuel cutoff soliniod, and new engine positioning sensor, and a new oil pressure sensor, because these 3 items can at time cause ECM damage when they fail, so at least with new ones you should not have another unexpected breakdown. (hopefully) good luck, sorry about your misfortune
