i think the rest sit in their companie's offices and try to dominate what is alleged to be a place for drivers. this is more likely when you consider just how quickly these would-be drivers get back to this message board! i think if i carried a laptop in my rig i would reasonably get on here about once in 3 days... but check the frequency of the insulting posters, here.
nothing else makes any sense...
oh yeah, and if they steal my pay or put lies on my dac, i'll deal with that :>)

I don't think there are many drivers who would question McLeod's reputation...IMHO, it's well-known and by no means favorable on average.
The questions arise as to why you chose to handle the situation the way you did. Now, if you choose not to look in a mirror, that's your business. If you wish to think that we're not truck drivers, fine. You don't sign my paychecks.
But to say you take responsibility and to actually do so are two vastly different things.

He's just another steering wheel holder that thinks he knows it all..... I guess since he's got a degree he obviously knows everything.. News flash bud, alot of drivers have degrees including myself, that doesn't make anyone better than anyone else, hell, I know people with engineering degrees that can't even tie their shoes... You were in the wrong and now that people have called you out your getting mad and calling everyone else morons and non- drivers, the only non-driver here is you and I think you did everyone a favor by doing what you've done, because I hope no one will hire you in this industry by looking at your track record, I know I wouldn't... But what do I know I'm just a dumb truck driver..

I can't belive you call yourself a professinal truck driver. A good rule of thumb is to either crawl or duck under your trailer when you hook up. Check all airlines, brakes and such. If something is broke, fix it if you can other wise go to repair shop. If the company says don't do it, take it to the first chicken coop.
Did you shake hands with your former employers? If so that is also a bond. A bond you broke.
I almost feel sorry for you (almost) you did yourself in this time. Your DAC is gonna take a hit you may not recover from. I see you cooking fried chicken at Popeyes or KFC.
I am not old school, my uncle is/was old school. I help other drivers when and where i can. I do my own repairs when and where i can.
As for your whining? Want some cheese with it?
Take it easy, and if you do manage to truck on.. Be safe.

Don't climb under the front of the trailer to check your 5th wheel jaws, someone might have pissed back there too. But hey, everyone here is a corporate shill and the entire trucking world is against you, right?
Thank god you just nuked your chances at ever getting employed at a trucking company again. The thought of sharing the road with someone like you is absolutely terrifying. -
Once you knew the brakes were bad-- whether thru conducting a proper PTI or by the problems you had stopping it once you were on the road-- you take it to the nearest TA, Petro or other nearby repair facility of your choice. BEFORE you deliver if it is preloaded. Either it gets fixed or it doesn't move. Period. Easy huh?
If your company wants to get real hard-core about things you always have the option of taking her to the nearest chicken coop. Although in this day and age of CSA I would no longer recommend it. I would stick with the first solution.
Far as the weight goes... I could care less whether it is an empty envelope or 46k pounds of cow dung. As long as it is legal that is all I care about. And since my equipment is up to the job (because I make SURE that it is) any legal weight load is not a hazard to me or any other motorists out there.

at the end i was furious. i had been conned, lied to and it was made plain that money was the only factor being considered. so i still offered to take their rig to the yard. but no. i had to haul freight, to the yard.
then i had enough. i red tagged the trailer and refused to move it, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DOT REGULATIONS. then they threatened me with the police, saying the receiver wanted me off their property. so i had better get in the rig and be on my way.
i refused to take their equipment to a shop. i was not about to donate any of my time to them, after what they had done to me.
THAT is how i came to call a cab, and go home. i got off their property, just as they said .) -
have you ever, just once, done an experiment where you panic-stopped a rig that was close to gross? no, you haven't, 'cause if you had you would not say what you just said. -
Little in life is fair.
You can curse the world as you swing at the air, and in the end you will have changed nothing.
Do yourself a favor - take a few steps back. Get some perspective.
There are lessons to be learned from your recent experiences.
I say this not to criticize, but in the hopes that you can gain something from all of this, because there is genuinely an opportunity to improve yourself and your situation from this.
Take a break from the forum (or at least this thread).
Figure out what it is you want to do for a living and apply energy toward that goal.
As much as you may want/desire a career in trucking - trucking doesn't appear to be a good fit.
