seriously. most of the people in this thread obviously are not truckers because they are back here multiple times, each day.
the "arguments" of the rest are so faulty, as to defy belief. for example, did i shake hands with my employer? actually, no. but if so i shook hands with the shippers, as well, and once i left their place i delivered their stuff, just as i said i would. to apply this... "logic" one way, and not the other, exposes both the bias and the simplicity of the poster.
i have ignored the ignorance that has been directed my way. that is far more than it is worth! but it certainly has not gone, un-noticed
i believe things happen for a reason. you, in here, have been the ambassadors, of your kind. the assumption that others are like yourself must be the most common mistake in this, or any other world. now i am beginning to see how difficult it is to overcome that mistake...
yes. thank you. thank you for the education. i have nothing to say, except that i do not wish you well....

I have no clue how McLeod operates. But I know with my company, if any equipment is not up to DOT specs, it gets addressed and/or repaired ASAP. They don't want CSA points against them; and neither do I.
As for your 1% lack of guts argument, I call BS. I have guts to stand up for myself, in trucking and life in general. Sticking with the trucking aspect, if YOU would have said to your maintainence department, "Hey guys, I think I have bad brakes on this trailer," I'm sure they'd be glad to direct you to the nearest authorized repair shop to get it fixed. And if the dispatcher gives you any lip about it, just tell the dispatcher, "Look, this trailer has bad brakes. I was told by maintainence to get it repaired immediately." That, sir, is standing up for yourself and potentially not killing yourself or anyone else because of faulty equipment.

"Ladies and Gentlemen....start your drama!"Injun and kid_cardiac Thank this. -

Are you implying that just because it takes longer for a vehicle to stop as it gets heavier (elementary physics-- DUH!) that somehow it is unsafe and I should refuse to haul an otherwise legal load?
Really??Injun Thanks this. -
oh yeah, and if they steal my pay or put lies on my dac, i'll deal with that :>)
They will not steal your pay. The will charge what ever was called for in your employment contract. You know all them papers you signed when you started. Of last 2 I read one called for a $500 charge, the other called for all reasonable expences involved in returning the truck to company control. Your smart all right, maybe you should have read that stuff you signed. What lies could they put on your DAC, lets see fired for cause because of truck abandonment. Verbally abused supervisory personal. No lies yet right. Face it you let your anger get the better of you and now you have screwed the pooch. Maybe you can use some that paper you got to find another job, but it will not be in the trucking industry. -
If he did find a job driving... WHo would it be for? Convict Cargo?
Seriously... Mage.. I wish you nothing but the best. But ya gotta learn how to pre trip. Taking a unit to the shop is not your dime, unless YOU own them. Look at like this.. Trailer repair= Nap time.

Well not EVERY TRUCKER is chained to the steering wheel , or takes all day to get the job done.

the fact remains that mcleod, in the full knowledge that the trailer was not safe, demanded that i load it again, and again. getting them to fix it required an incident, with a receiver! Even then, they demanded that i break the law and risk my safety (not to mention that of everyone else on the street) by moving a vehicle that would not pass the PTI.
What's with you hand???? It goes like this...the carrier offers equipment for you to use....you inspect it and if it fails, you don't move it !!! They can demand all they want! You are the captain of that ship and YOU have the last word and only YOUR opinion counts. If they tell you "well so and so just pulled it" then toss them a quarter so they can call so and so and get him in here cause your not pulling it !
Don't need a degree for that, it's trucking , just do it. Now get some spine and quit whining .
Geeze.....ChuckK70 Thanks this. -
where am i?????
i was busy all day doing yard work
and in almost 2 years i have driven 1/2 houir--last friday---but now i do orientation next week
and who is going to do my #### yard work then
i kinda think everybody is being a bit rough on him---i am sure pretty much everybody here has picked up a junk wagon and wanted to say screw this crap --the problem seems is that he took the first load--kinda a favour almost --but refused the second and wouldnt take the trl to get fixed--ok maybe he didnt handle it the right way--and probabely screwed himself because of dac--to me dac is bs--it should be outlawed--the idea of it is good but it seems it is abused by the companys
now if we put ourselves in this guys place--how would have each one of us handled it???????? you never know until you are in that positionFLATBED Thanks this.
