DDS - No he has 1650 Torque.
Good point about Cat, I bet that's what they did too.
I am not sure why there is such a big difference with the wheel hp.
I think our best bet would be a pdi tune very soon, I just wanted to ask what would be the best idea as far as fuel mileage, A Pdi tune or a bullydog?
We don't have much money to play with and we want to do the smarter thing.
Is MR Haney in PA? my husband does go down there often enough with loads so he could swing by sometime.
The funny thing is that his work hooked it up to their laptop again and it said 6.8 mpg. We knew that there was no way. and sure enough after measuring the fuel and mileage after that ended up being 5.5
better then 4mpg but I am not very hopeful that it will stay at 5.5 through this trip.
He does have some sort of leak near the front of his truck on the right side. he can't tell where it's coming from. every moning he wipes it off, but it doesn't actually leak to the ground. looks to be clear. A couple of different people looked at it, and they made it out to be like no big deal.

a friend of my husbands told him to he should change the fuel regulator, that other guys with the same truck shot up mpg after doing that. Does that make sense?

The big difference talking with people between Bully Dog and PDI's tunes in the Acert engines is the cost of the downloader set up with Bully Dog. As far as fuel mileage gain and performance, I've been told they are roughly the same by customers that have done both with trucks they've owned.
I'm located in Virginia, outside of Washington DC, but I would have you meet with a PDI employee to have the ECM done in New Castle, PA off of exit 13 of the PA Turnpike at your convenience
Are you sure it isn't the drain from the A/C evaporator coil? These will drain clear water from them while the A/C is running -
I think your friend is talking about raising the fuel pressure. You can shim the fuel pump spring or buy the higher rated spring from CAT to do this.
