Hello Krash, I moved your post to its own thread.

We made a number of changes to the server about a month ago, and those changes actually made the site significantly faster, based on page speed tests and user interaction with the site.

A couple weeks ago, I added the Google +1 button to the site. The +1 button in the top-right corner of the forum appears about a second or two after everything else on the page has finished loading, and I understand that gives the impression of a longer load time. I'm going to remove it for now and see how that changes things.

    Thanks for your input :biggrin_25519:

I use a dialup connection from home that is probably running through some of the worst phone lines in Texas. Basically, just a little better than tin cans and string. This site is one of the fastest ones that I visit. In fact, when you consider the amount of traffic, I think it's really quite exceptional. Kudos to Admin for making the investment required in the server space to keep it running that fast.

I too have noticed a slow down in loading. But not just for this site! I am wondering if it is just because the whole webb has come up with a tremendous increase in traffic now that kids are out of school?

When I contacted by ISP, they told me nothing had changed.

Thanks Sam. I do have Spyware Doctor and it is always on. It tells me I'm good, but I'm not so sure. I think I will try the one you linked to.

OK, I loaded and ran Malwarebytes. It also says I'm clean.

Krash, the problem really could be your Norton. Most everybody I know quit using it years ago as it is so cumbersome that it really does add time to your downloads. Just be sure you have SOME type of antivirus/spyware protection!

    krash13ss Thanks this.

A good security program to try would be F-Secure. $60 for a year for three computers, and nothing gets by this stuff. I've been using it for about 5 years now.

Lilbit, what kind of trouble are you getting up to that you require that kind of protection? :biggrin_25524:
