Just Starting

I just wanted to introduce myself. I am starting school in Atlanta on July 25. Didn’t expect to become a trucker at my age but it is something I always wanted to do. I just turned 58 in June. I am in good physical health and shape. I have two grown children, one just graduated college and the other is in her second year. Wife is in the medical profession and can live without me for a few days at a time. After I spend my time in truck driving boot camp I hope to settle into a regional or dedicated route. I may even consider being an owner / operator later on. Fortunately living in a large metropolitan area I have many companies to choose from once I get my 6 – 12 months experience. I would like to hear from other late bloomers who are entering the trucking industry.
