Any questions from prospects or lookers from real Watkins and Shepard drivers?

they do ALL preventive maintenance, some bigger problems you might have will get sent out to freightliner (or blueridge in conover) but they will take care of that. i've only had 1 problem wuth the tractor on the road and that was a tire issue, took about 1 to 1.5 hours from the phone call till the tire was on the truck ready to roll. small issues i have i will drop it off when i am going home and it is ready when i come back.

 

OK, so I got my date for the 10 day, 07/05.

I have just short of 4 yrs. prior otr exp. but was dated so I had to go back to school to re-earn the rite of seating. What I'm looking for is what type of Eaton/Fuller ten speed will I be working with in Conover. From what I've read on the posts is it's not the super 10 so X that one out. Been searching the net for the specs on the 10s but faced with different models it's kinda like bobbing for apples.

I know it's not rocket science and I do well with any trans or pattern once I familiarize myself with it. Just trying to get a better understanding of the common 10 that I will find with W/S. I have always been a shift by feel and sound guy and not a tach watcher. But if I'm going to be random quizzed on speed/rpm ranges I want to start my study's now.
So if anyone has a ideal of the most common 10 model used I'll start there. Pre-thanks for any input.

 

Are freightliners have Eaton fuller 10 speeds, and most of the volvos have merritor
10 speeds, some have Eaton fullers. They are just regular 10 speeds

I've looked in the prior posts for this answer but cannot find it. What is a 10 day? Is this a refresher course for former drivers with some otr experience? If so, how much does it cost? How much OTR experience do you need to qualify?

The 10 day, is our Orientation for new and limited experiance drivers (less then 3 months exp) if you have more exp you just go through a 3 day orientation.

What if you've been off the road for almost 2 years? Does that require a refresher course?

yes you'll have to go to a truck driving school for a refresher to work here or get 3 months recent exp. But call recruiting and see what she says.
