"I did it the redneck way" :biggrin_2559:

Very good ...... I like that answer.

Even if it is not sound or NBS repeatable .

All kidding aside I have measured this using either my Marconi or the IFR1200 at work and the transistor swap will gain you about 6 DB of S/N increase.

I have seen the pricing at Sparkys before. Are we talking apples to apples or does the stealth have more done to it than Sparkys and if so does it perform substantially better than Sparkys?

The stealth has ALOT more done to it than the Cobra 29/RFX75 Sparky has LISTED. Apples to apples Sparky is $.95 higher than Custom on the 29RFX and about $5.00 cheaper on the majority of the other radios.:biggrin_2551: You should call them both and pick the one you are most comfortable buying from.

Just have to add that Doug at Custom CB radios is the originator of the stealth cobra models.

You need to contact Sparkys and get the install specs before you make such a statement :biggrin_2558:

NO, No I don't. I contacted Sparky before I bought from Doug, He was nice enough to spare me about 10 minutes of his time which I do appreciate as he is a very busy man.:biggrin_25525: Fact is the stealth has many upgrades the standard RFX does not. I buy from both but will say I do favor Dougs Stealth version over anyones RFX modded radio as he did indeed originate it and is still upgrading and making it even better.

I will be calling them both again in a few weeks to decide who I will order my RCI 69FFc4 from. I may not know as much about radios as most here but I must feel comfortable with whom I purchase from before spending my hard earned money.

If you think so, $600 for 400 watts isnt a radio for somebody that
"doesnt know much",but will install one in a vibration intensive application.
Connex 43/300 would be a smarter buy,the 100 watt difference you'll never miss.

    But I guess a trigger trip is a trigger trip . . . . . . . ???

2970Dx are much more bang for the buck, you dont need much power
    walking the 12 meter band.
