If your in Phoenix area go to your closest Fedex ground terminal and contact the linehaul manager of that terminal we are 100% owner operator and many terminals have small fleets in need of a driver or 2. You need 6 months experience if you went to a school (im assuming you went to driving school). Generally pretty leaniant if you have no major preventables, speeding tickets ok as long as they are not over 15mph. You will not be employed by Fedex you will be employed by a contractor and with that the pay, benefits and perks varie.
Example- I know a large contractor here at my HUB over 20 trucks (nice ones too mostly KW single axle sleepers t600 and t660) he pays .37cpm to start and 75/day holiday pay no insurance.
My contractor on the other hand is .42cpm older 2000-2005 equipment, 100/day holiday (soon to be 150), insurance is 800 month (not great but he made an attempt and Im sure will improve as our fleet grows and can get bigger discounts)

You need only doubles endorsement NO-Hazmat required, the equipment is great never had a breakdown in 13 months even using the older trailers and dollies
I broke a gladhand in a yard at a P&D customer within 15 minutes a guy was there and had a new glad hand installed in 5 minutes essentially lost no time.
Its a great place to work and heres the best part when your approved to drive for fedex your fedex approved so transfering between can be done with less hassle, no road test etc. the doors are open to you.
And lastly there are local and team runs you can drive team and still be home daily (like a 800mile trip). But that depends on the contractor. Good luck let me know if you have found anything or any questions

The real question I have is why do you think they fired you?

They had a peer review (driver's board) I get that it might have been something stupid or even unjustified. but still you got to have an Idea?

Hey TD even though you are who you are and I am having a real hard time not bashing you as I am enjoying my 1000+ week checks from my current company, yes I am doing well and survived 20k miles with a trainer, barely but I made it. Waste Management is hiring in PHX for CDL and non CDL positions. Maybe take a non cdl position and move up I believe most of the CDL position require 1 year. We are moving back to AZ and my friend who works there gave me the info in case I wanted something local but I am having too much fun here for now. Check it out. I wish you the best of luck in finding something.

Craigslist has a bunch of stuff on it past few days. We are moving back so I am looking to look for something local, I really like Prime just local would be great if not I can deal with this until end of lease.
