I'm just coming back to OTR driving. I spent three years driving a water truck, and a tractor pulling flatbeds and tankers. Half glad to be back out here.
I'm sitting in a tiny truck stop in St. Louis waiting to pick my load up in the morning and got a little bored so I figured I'd take a look around in here.

Kind of glad to be back. I'm kind of a young guy and in that time that I was a local driver I got married and had 2 children. Haven't been away from them more than a couple of days so this is going to be quite an adjustment.
I see that not many things have changed out here. The biggest thing that I've seen is that it seems that almost no one talks on the CB anymore, especially in the southwest and the midwest states. I was kind of figuring that eventually the idiots with the big radios, sound boards, and echo knobs would chase people off of the air waves, but it makes it pretty hard to get any information. -
Go the the spanish channel. That's were they are all at. I went on an overnighter trip not to long ago on I-5 in Cali, and I couldn't find hardly no one on the channels, 15, 17. Then I started channel surfing for the heck of it and guess what, channel 7 was busy. My compadres were there.

I know just enough Spanish to get a beer, hit on a girl, get her boyfriend/husband to kick my ##$, and insult someone's mother. I probably better stay away from the Spanish channels.
Now that I think about it, when I can't find a comeback, this CB I just picked up has a scan feature, I'll have to actually try that out. -
Welcome to the party!
