Yeah if someone got killed they would trace the phone call, but that kind of investigation costs $$$, and they don't have the budget money to waste on tracing prank phone calls that result in someone getting soft tissue damage. Just watch, they will laugh at you if you pursue this line and get all huffy with them. They make the rules and have the guns. They don't care that you were inconvenienced, they are fightin' a drug war out there!

Excellent advise.Yodler, simplyred1962, Big Don and 1 other person Thank this. -
By all means see a doctor ASAP. Call the Internal Affairs section of that department and file a complant. Inform them that you will be filing a claim for all costs incured. Doctors bills, lost wages, etc. Make sure you document everything in your logs. Sound like you encountered a John Wayne wanna be. By following through with this maybe you will keep him from doing this to someone else.
Hope you are feeling better.trucker_101, simplyred1962 and Injun Thank this. -
i agree--do exactely what slot car says----this type of behaviour is far to common --its no longer the land of the free---no longer is a person innocent till proven guilty
the world is changing--and i really dont like what it is turning intoInjun, bullhaulerswife, misterG and 4 others Thank this. -
Wow! All I can say is Wow! Glad you are OK and so sorry that you had to go through that, I was trying to pull you back into the truck and screaming for help. You had me that scared for you, ya never know what could've happened, but I'm glad that it wasn't at all what I didn't want to think about. Take care of yourself and go see a doctor.
simplyred1962 and Injun Thank this. -
I keep my windows completely covered so there is no seeing in. If I don't know you I don't answer the door and if I'm 1,000 miles from home I'm sure I wouldn't know you if I looked. I don't even answer the front door of my house if I don't know you.
I would give a uniformed officer about a 25% chance I would open the door considering that they didn't see me checking on who they where. All depends on how they knock. If they pound and scream the only way their coming in is with a warrant and a battering ram.
BTW my best friend is a 13 year cop so I'm not anti LEO.Injun and simplyred1962 Thank this. -

I kind of felt the same way. I don't know Injun, she doesn't know me, but all the same, in the short time I have been reading this forum, I have come to value what Injun has to say.
She strikes me as someone I would go out of my way for.
It is frustrating when you read a post like that knowing darn well that there is nothing you can do about it, since:
1. The encounter is already over and is in the past
2. No one was there to help (or at least be a witness), and
3. Even if you, or I, were there, there wasn't much we could have done about it anyway, short of either getting shot, or hauled off to jail ourselves.
Injun, I'm really glad this turned out to be a legitimate LEO with an attitude problem, rather than a bad guy looking to do harm to you.Volvo92906, The Challenger, Injun and 4 others Thank this. -
well i too am shocked to hear of such a story.
maybe this should be a lesson to all of us to NOT have pictures of our trucks here..?? some trucks that i have seen here have company numbers that are SO EASY to see......either remove them or delete the pics..???
and yeah, try not to ever give out a location or where you will be at in the future..??
could be right, could have been some jerk here that was getting even with you for some inane reason...
out here, we DO HAVE the state police that dress up in all black uniforms, which primarily are the DOT truck squads and even the SWAT people.
and then too, it did not have to be any "jerk" from here, it could have been some A-hole at the truck stop.Injun Thanks this. -
Iron-oxide you are correct, that is how I felt, the story was so intense that I got sucked right in. ( Just the way you do when watching a movie and you want to help people.) I have never met Injun, or anyone on the forum for that matter, but I feel the same about valuing what she has to say. Sorry for the confusion on the wording.
Mastertech, Lilbit, Injun and 3 others Thank this.
