    can any body tell me the best to turn the crank on a 5EK cat so that I can install so bearings

    If I understand your question correctly, your needing a tool to turn the crankshaft?
    Cat makes an Engine turning tool that fits a 3/4 drive socket and is splined to fit in the starter hole at the flywheel housing.

    If you have an old starter laying around and the right size pipe and a welder you could make one from the pinion gear.

    Paid $100 for mine from CAT 16 years ago. God knows what they are now. I just paid $150 for the little compressor thing for the lifter clip. Couldn't get lifter back in w/o it.
