I assume it was a Stanislaus Deputy Sheriff with the attitude? CHP was OK, right?
If so, leave CHP out of it, unless you need the officer's statements later.
Put your complaint in writing, in polite, professional language, addressed to the Sheriff's dept, and send a copy to the County Commission (whatever jurisdiction the Sheriff's dept is in).
I am so sorry you were treated this way. Please remember, not all LEO's are like this knucklehead.
Will Never See Cops the Same Way Again

This is a situation where 1st you need to have a better handle on who's your enemy out there. From knowing LEO's as both family and friends, once you have the case report info then you can track who the officer was and challenge the false & resisting arrest, and also try to seek reparation on your injuries. With LEO's under the spotlight as is nothing more than a lil media attention will tighten that #$$ up. Don't be embarassed about the situation because that's enough for anyone to cry over. Next time just refuse to comply and don't open that door until you call 911. Or at least sick your dog on em. Hope all goes well and my prayers are with you and the situation you just went through...

Injun, don't give up on this, follow it through till the job is done. Just do the best you can to get some justice in this case. follow the steps that you have to do and be confident.

What does Swift's Safety Dept., Legal Dept., and Upper Management have to say about this? Do they know about it yet?
I would think they should want to get involved. I was always taught that you have to back your team.
Who knows? They might have enough influence to make something happen that otherwise wouldn't happen.
I'm pretty naive sometimes, so sorry if this is not a good thought.
It looks like a perfect opportunity for Swift to show their drivers they care about them.
It should be in their best interests to help their drivers to stay safe, and step in when their representatives are being treated badly.Last edited: Jun 24, 2011

I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said. Glad you ok, that had to be very scary. I hope you can get some justice from this, no one deserves to be treated that way.

"Cops are trained to shoot the dogs as soon as they see them."
Any other fairy tales you want to post? Shoot dogs first? I have to laugh at loud at some of the paranoia and silly stories and suggestions here. Let's ease up on the "you know what I would have done" Monday morning quarterbacking and cop-hating stuff...
Seems like as bad as this jerk officer is... a TRUCKER likely initiated this horrible situation with a strategically placed phone call.
Maybe he was eying her up and she shot him down... figured he'd fix her wagon?scatruck Thanks this. -
As far as the Indiana plates, many times they will not come back when i run them by tag number, I have to run them by VIN number to get a response. Most truck guys know this and have come to expect it. Regular road guys or drug officers may not have an idea about this.
From what you posted, it definately seems like he was acting like a arse. Glad you are ok, and hope you don't think we are all like this.trucker_101, Big Don, 25(2)+2 and 6 others Thank this.
