I don't have any advice for you as I am still a wannabe. However, I have seen many references to pre-hires on this forum... Have you put in any applications yet?

If nothing else, the bump should get you a bit more visibility...

    Good luck.

    Nuts! I misread that ad.

They were looking for a casual driver not too long ago.

Still, a way to get in although I can't blame you if you don't want to work the dock with a CDL in your pocket.

let me tell you something...even experienced drivers at yellow work the dock....every now and then

newpenn, roadway, NEMF, ABF as well....

that CDL in your wallet means NOTHING when there is WORK to be done, or you get wrote up for REFUSING to work....think the union will help you then..???

Guess that's why union guys earn more, get benefits and have some protections in the workplace. Think the UPS driver will trade places with you?

A blanket statement like that is nonsense.

I've never worked at an LTL outfit; thanks for the tip.

I just know a couple of guys who retired from them and they're in a pretty good position.

Only imbeciles limit their job choices in this economy. Union or not, the bottom line is a man needs a job.
