Glad to see you are doing well. I just started my 3rd week with my trainer at PAM. We have had some interesting times thanks to trailer or booking issues too.

Now we're stuck doing 19mi shuttle jobs. But it's better than taking a load 500mi and sitting on it all weekend until it can be unloaded on monday. We are doing this keeping dispatch happy so we can get the cherry load.

Another cool thing about Phil. He has sirius and saves the first 2 presets for his trainees. While driving I get to listen to whatever I want (though he respectfully asked for no hip hop which I didn't have a problem with). So while driving I get to listen to octane and he can easily sleep through the volume being turned up so noise isn't a pproblem.

Its good to read that you are having a good time and a better trainer. I still have a good friendship with my old trainer.

Got our new load assignment. Trainer just grinned and said Cali. Looks like I'm going to get some serious miles because I got way more hours available than he does.

Question: I don't get how he can train you when he's sleeping while driving and vice versa? The company I'm interested in says that the trainer will be in the passenger seat the whole time. Which I guess means we will have to sleep in the truck together at the same time, which could get awkward...

He only sleeps during interstate driving. He's confident in my skills there. City driving, docking, drop and hook, trip planning, etc. he's right there with me. It's really a waste of hours for him to sit beside me as I run with cruise set down the interstate listening to the radio.

And some people will maybe cheat a little and log sleeper time while in the shotgun seat...I don't know anyone that does that :biggrin_25524:
